A few months later

Everything started to fall into place, the rest of the pack accepted me and I stood beside Devin through everything. My parents had even came to visit a few times as Paul told them how much I have grown. I never felt so much at home, as I began working at the community center helping children with their school work as their family fulfilled their duties within the pack.

"Good afternoon Sherry. What do we have to do today?" I asked as I bent down to grab her backpack walking over to the table to unload her books. Sherry was a smart girl but struggled with math. She was only 9 or 10, I sat down with her daily to help her catch up with her academics. "I have to learn my 5's today." Sherry says while pouting. She hated learning her multiplication tables but I tried to make it as fun as possible. Sherry and I sat at the table practicing her multiplication when Tye came busting in the doors. "You can't keep disappearing like that Luna. Alpha will have our heads." I leaned back in the chair, chuckling at the sight of him. He wiped his hand across his forehead, removing the sweat that beaded from him searching for me.

"You know, I have no clue why you 3 are my bodyguards... you have no concept of time or memory." I retorted as I shook my head at the look he gave me. "It is 3 o'clock in the afternoon, where else would I be but here." I questioned. Tye looked down at his watch and his eyes almost exploded when he realized he never even bothered to see what time it actually was before hunting me down.

I stood up out of my seat, "I'll get Paula to help you Sherry, I got to go deal with something." I whispered in Sherry's ear. Walking out the door, I headed for the pack house. Tye ran down the street after me, as I looked back at him. "Are you coming or not!" I yelled at Tye as he caught up with me. My mood swings have gotten worse since becoming pregnant, and I didn't want to deal with all this crap. I wasn't showing that much, just a slight bump forming that kicked my hormones into overdrive.

Walking through the doors to the pack house I strutted over to the office, barging in as I was getting so annoyed at all this protection crap. I mean I never leave town or the pack lands so what is there to protect me from. Not waiting for a response I burst through the door, finding Devin sitting at his desk, his eyes glance at me as he stopped whatever he was doing and leaned back in his seat. "Let's have it..." he said as he knew from the look upon my face that I wasn't to happy with Tye. I slammed the door in Tye's face, not wanting him anywhere near me right now. As I turned around to face Devin, he was already standing in front of me. He rubbed my tiny bump, as his arm pulled me in close. "What did those morons do now?" he huffed as he kissed my neck. "Why do I have to have them follow me? It's not like I go anywhere." I state annoyed that I still have them follow me everywhere. Devin steps back holding me at arms length, "they are there to protect you." he says as he rubs the baby bump. "Protect me..... ha. They are idiots. I'm only at 3 places and I keep the same routine, yet they look everywhere other than where I am at." I hiss as I walk over to sit down on the sofa. "If you want to send somebody to protect me, have Shawn follow me, or some other warrior, at least they would be there." I understood why he chose those 3 but just because they are the strongest in the pack that doesn't make them reliable. Devin walked over and sat down next to me, "Anything you want... I will have Shawn take over till I can find a suitable replacement." he muttered as he lifted my legs across his lap, removing my sandals as the fell to the floor with a thump.

"How about you stay off of your feet awhile, and help me with these financial papers." he says as he rubs my feet and legs. He always gave me the finances to deal with, for he hated the paperwork and thinking that it involved. I tried to get up to walk over to his desk when he shook his head, "Stay there and relax, I will bring it to you." he muttered as he moved my legs aside to retrieve them from his desk.

I sat there doing the paperwork, as Devin rubs my back and shoulders. "Alpha, Luna, I need to speak with you" Shawn says through the mind link. About 10 minutes later he ran into the office, clutching his knees as he breathed heavily. Looking up at him, he was drenched in sweat as he gasped for air like he just ran all the way here.

"What is going on?" barked Devin getting annoyed as Shawn just stood there catching his breath. "Alpha.....Alpha Drake....Alpha Drake's men are trying to cross the border."

"What!" Devin lunges forward as he races towards the door. "Why are they trying to cross?" I ask as I slip my shoes back on. Shawn looks over at me, his eyes dart to Devin quickly before his eyes glaze over as he mind links. "Stay with her!" Devin screams, "Don't leave Shawn's side." he states looking at me.

Devin runs out of the office and through the pack house. I stood there stunned wanting to know why they were trying to cross. "What is going on Shawn? Why are they trying to cross now?" I muttered to Shawn. Shawn just looked over at me and shook his head as he kept guard. "I can't Luna Lillian. Everything will be okay, Devin will be back soon." he sighed as he ran a hand down his face. The worry in his eyes gave away that Drake's men were here for me, but I just didn't know why.

Leon, Tye, and Raidon all locked the pack house down standing guard as Shawn stayed next to my side. Bile rose in my throat at the thought Devin was out there with them. "It is okay, I'm fine." Devin stated through the mind link, I knew he felt my worry, but his words eased my emotions some. Shawn's eyes glazed over as I looked towards the door, "What's going on?" I forced myself to ask again. "Wait for the Alpha. Let him tell you, it is not my place." Shawn said as he came over to sit next to me on the sofa.

I sat there for a good half an hour before Devin came in the office, placing his hand on Shawn's shoulder and nods to him. He was covered in blood and dirt, only wearing a pair of shorts as he walked over to me. Shawn walked through the door, leaving the office as I heard Tye and Leon holler for him. I sat there staring at him, waiting for him to tell me what the fuck just happened, but he never did. "Come, I need a shower." Devin grumbles as he grabs my hand to help me up.

Walking to the master bath, I stop in the door frame. I wasn't giving him what he wants until he tells me what is going on. As he adjusted the taps and removed his clothes I leaned against the frame watching him closely. "What happened out there? Why were thy trying to cross?" I questioned him. Devin sighs and tries to grab my hand but I pull it away as I was building up anger at him for not telling me what happened.

"It's nothing love. Hope in the shower with me." he said as he stepped under the spray. I was not giving in, I wanted to know why he was hiding it from me. "Nothing huh, then why are you covered in blood, like you had to put them down. If it was nothing you would never had to kill them." I exclaimed. I walked back to our room, laid down in the bed as I waited for him to get out. I heard the water shut off 10 minutes later, as Devin walks out with a towel wrapped low on his hips. He walked over to the walk-in to retrieve some boxer shorts he put them on and climbed in the bed.

I turned around to the other side of the bed not wanting to look at him. As soon as I flipped, I felt his warm hands on my waist trying to tug me over towards him. I looked over and seen his sparkling blue eyes staring at me, I shook my head and turned back around facing away from him. He sighed as he got up out of the bed, walking towards the door. "I'll be in my office. Come find me when your not in a mood." he stated.
