He hissed back.
"Hey Max." Kiri waved at Max.
"Hey kids." He waved at us.
Lo'ak started walking towards him.
"Hey what's up Max?" Max gave Lo'ak, Spider, and I fist bumps.
Max looked at me and Lo'ak strangely.
Me and Lo'ak looked at each other at the same time. I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed it.
"What's up Norm?" Spider fist bumped Norm.
"Lo'ak. Are you and Lëiani a thing now? What's going on here?"
"Norm. No." I instantly denied his questions.
"Sadly not. She just hurt her ankle. I was going to ask if you could check it for her?" Lo'ak asked.
I looked at him. Is he just going to ignore the fact that he said sadly not? I can't tell if he's being serious or for real. He's always playing around but the way he said it, made it sound real.
Did he actually mean it?
"Of course. Set her down over there." He pointed to a chair.
Lo'ak walked over, setting me down.
Norm grabbed another chair, pulling it over to me. He took a seat in front of me. "May I?" He asked, looking at my foot.
I nodded.
He picked my foot up, setting it in his lap. He began rolling my ankle, making me wince.
"Fuck." I threw my head back, squeezing my eyes shut.
"Norm take it easyyy." Lo'ak demanded, dragging out the word easy.
"Hey I'm just trying to help." Norm said, sounding a bit defensive.
I picked my head up to look at Norm.
"Well you're not in tears, so it's not broken." He said.
"It feels like it is." I bit my lip.
"It's just a bad sprain. I'll wrap it for you." He stood up, setting my foot where he once sat.
Lo'ak walked to my side.
"You're not going to be able to go in the forest for a couple of days, you know that right?" Lo'ak asked me.
I nodded my head. "Yeah I know." I said disappointed.
"Just think about it. The more you rest your foot, the quicker it'll get better." He told me.
"Lo'ak. I think you talk to Tuk to much. I'm not a kid, I know how things work." I shook my head.
Just then Norm came back, carefully picking up my foot. He sat it back on his lap. He began wrapping it.
Once he was finished, I stood up. Lo'ak put his hands out incase I fell. My foot felt heavy. I'm going to have to get used to this.
"Thanks." I thanked Norm.
He nodded, walking away.
"You still want me to carry you?" Lo'ak smiled.
"I don't want to be carried. You just want an excuse to carry me." I shook my head.
He dramatically gasped, placing his hand on his heart. "Now that's not true."
"Oh it so is." I smiled, holding back my laugh.
Him being dramatic is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
