Jay Kurebayashi is the Main Protagonist of the series. He was being summoned by a Mysterious Force to the World of Honkai Impact. and the leader of Squad V of the St. Freya team.
Personality
Before entering the World of Honkai Impact, Jay is used to be an exceedingly trusting and positive person willing to help others in need. However, this changes when he realized that they only friends with him due to his Family name that owns a School and Combined with Pauline Nishihara Rejected his Feelings causing him to fell in a deep despair for the past 13 years.
This event change his Point of View towards the World He becomes cold, distant and cynical this is what the reason why he can no longer trust anyone leading into a isolation towards others.
Pauline's influence impacted Jay Greatly He develops a low esteem issues towards himself as well being regrets of having a misfortunate life upon him.
Despite being cold or distant towards the others. He still cares about his friends. when he enters to the world of Honkai Impact he considers that St Freya as his Home. He is also has a soft spot towards Mei and Kiana due to he is concerned about the tragic fate that will happens in the near future which proves there is still a small remains towards his original personality. Jay has been Stated that He and Cedric will be the Bridge that connects to Kiana and Mei's bond if one of them needs a Helping hand.
Powers and Abilities:
Honkai Absorption: One of his main abilities in the story. Which allows him to absorb another person that has a Honkai Energy by touching his hands to its target and allows him to used the latter abilities that he has absorbed. He uses this one for the first time when Mei's Herrscher Powers Awakened.
Honkai Telepathy: This Special Ability which allows him to speak with his targets mentally. The main requirements for the user in order to communicate with a certain target is to absorb a Honkai Energy (Mainly Herrschers) which will allows him to have a special connection to the latter. Which He did use this ability to communicate with Mei to calm her down.
Expert Combatant: Due to his combat prowess, Jay is a balanced fighter who prefers close combat. Even without any use of weapons he can toe to toe against a S-rank Valkyrie with the likes of Durandal and Rita
Weapon Mastery:Despite Jay's Main Weapon is a Great Sword.Heis very skilled in the use on any weapons depending on a situations.
