System Nullification

Chapter 18

 "Oh, right," Cameron said, disappearing.

 "Alright, let me get the computer running," Will said.

 I looked at the screen as the computer turned on within a second. There were a few  options such as: monitor security cameras, monitor system, training games, self destruct, daily news and miscellaneous information. Will clicked on miscellaneous information and typed in a password. A bunch of folders opened up, and he clicked on the one titled Outside Businesses. There were a lot of options from here, considering all of the different businesses in the U.P. "Holy crap," Zephyr snickered. "That's the information on a strip club."

 "Are you into that? Do we have to check that first?" I joked.

 "Nah," Zephyr said, leaning over to whisper to me, "I'm only into you."

 I looked down when my face started warming up. "Mercenary, federal agents, assassin organizations," Will muttered. "Oh, found it, Behemoth Corporation."

 "Okay, what are we gonna look at?" Zephyr asked. "This is a pretty rare opportunity."

 "Uh, okay, let's see... wait, why are we looking into this?" Will asked. "Didn't Cameron want to look for something... pfft, he disappeared, okay."

 "Look for Leviathan Organization," I said.

 "Hmm, I think there's an organization relationship option... yeah, okay, here it is," Will said, clicking a few more times.

 "Hmm, yeah, they were enemies and shit," Zephyr said, reading the page.

 "Yeah, we know that. Why do we need to do this? Ugh, if only Cameron could tell us," I groaned.

 My phone vibrated right at that second. A text said: Hey, it's Cameron, texting you from antimatter space. Just look at the current buildings for Leviathan Organization and then do whatever the hell you want.

 I showed Will the text after I added Cameron's number to my phone. "Current locations... let's see," Cameron said.

 The page said stuff like: Not much is known about this organization since it's a secret mercenary group. However, lots of their locations are known. For example, lots of them are in the United Kingdom.

 "I doubt this is the info we need," I mentioned.

 "Same," Will said, scrolling down. "Ooh, a map."

 "Oh, fuck, the U.P has tons of Behemoth Corporation bases," Zephyr commented as we studied the map.

 "I wonder what Cameron's going to do about that..." I sighed. "He refuses to hurt a fly as long as it doesn't harm him, I swear."

 "I'm sure he'll discuss it with us later," Zephyr said. "Since we're in government property and all. Now let's do whatever we want. That's what Cameron said to do, right?"

 "Yeah... let's find random stuff out," I said. "The future knowledge might be kind of useful."

 "Let's see... Behemoth Corporation members... deceased..." Will muttered. "Anderson Black."

 "You okay?" Zephyr asked, concerned.

 "Mhm," William said, then flinching at the screen. "Well, that's kind of creepy. It has a list of people Anderson was associated with, and I'm on the list."

 "I'm assuming that clicking your name will give it information on yourself," Zephyr said.

 "I guess I'll try it, I bet it's gonna say dumb stuff like my blood type and my favorite food," Will rolled his eyes, clicking his name.

 The page popped up, and William's personal profile appeared. "This is kind of creepy, we're reading Will's personal profile," I laughed.

 "Yeah, you guys are creepers, but whatever, I don't think I'm gonna learn anything new from reading my own profile so I might as well let you guys read it too. It probably doesn't say anything personal," Will said.

 "Biological parents, Mr. and Mrs. De' Soto... divorced..." Zephyr said.

 "Oh, yeah. That was..." Will hesitated. "An experience."

 I sighed, fully aware of his entire life story. "Current legal guardians, Mr. Panton and Mrs. Panton (previously Mrs. De' Soto)..." I read.

 "Hmm, you know what, I'm curious, I want to know about my biological dad's new wife," Will said, and before Zephyr and I could say anything, he clicked on his dad's name.

 Without bothering to read the profile, he clicked on the link that said "current spouse."

 Her name was previously Mrs. Schnee. "She seems like a nice lady," I remarked.

 "Yeah, she works in a bakery and all," Will said. "Huh, she has a kid?"

 "They have a kid?" Zephyr asked. "Adam Panton..."

 "Uh, Adam?!" I squeaked.

 I only just realized that I never caught the Adam from the murder case's last name. "Hold on," I agitatedly said. "Click his name."

 "Iris... you're not thinking that that Adam is..." Zephyr gasped.

 Will clicked the name. "Whoa, that's a lot of crimes. All committed on different days and finally discovered on the same day... with the help of Iris Chantelle Airlotte..." Will turned to me and gave me a thumbs up. "Props to you, Iris!"

 "Will, did you seriously just not process any of that?!" Zephyr asked.

 "What do you mean?" Will questioned.

 "It means your stepbrother is literally a murderer, Will," I said. "I have mind reading skills. I went through his entire life story. Then I got to the actual crimes he committed, and it was scary. It really was."

 "Hold up, this guy's jailed and he's my stepbrother?!" Will screamed.

 "Shut up, keep your voice down!" Zephyr said in a hushed tone.

 "Okay, what the fuck, this guy's way older than me!" Will said. "How does that even..."

 "I don't know, I guess your stepmom screwed somebody before marrying your biological dad," I stated. "I don't even know anymore."

 "I'm not surprised he's not blood related to me. He committed like, a ton of fashion crimes right there," Will joked, and before I could groan, he continued. "Okay, honestly, I don't get how I can't even hurt anyone at all and yet there's this guy who's apparently my stepbrother going out taking the lives of innocent people. Oh, the logic is so fucked up."

 "Tell me about it," I said, looking away from the screen.

 "So now what? What're we going to do about this whole thing?" Zephyr asked. "I mean, big deal, we just found out a murderer is William's stepbrother. Big deal. It's not like he can do anything ever again. And it doesn't change the fact that William is a sassy, semi malicious hacker that we all know and love."

 "Aww, thanks Zephyr," William said.

 Zephyr grinned. I pointed out, "Okay, so a ton of people against Cameron are in the U.P. If Cameron's base is in the U.P... then what?"

 Cameron texted me. It said: I don't know.
