Bright moonlight shines through the windows of the otherwise pitch black castle, inside and out. A sword pressed to his neck.
"Dream, please! It doesn't have to end like this!"
"This isn't you! Where's Clay?"
He pleads in a desperate tone, scared for his life. "Clay?"
"You mean that lonely little boy who decided he was never good enough for anybody?"
"Dream, I'm sorry-"
"I don't care that you're sorry, George!"
"You broke my heart, you were never there! When I asked you for help, you told me you had better things to do!"
George looks up at him, Dream's blade pressing lightly into his neck.
"I could kill you right now. And I'd feel no remorse."
The brunette has a pleading look in his eyes, he's bloody, Dream is too. George has taken more hits than Dream. But that doesn't mean he's stronger, nothing this man has ever done could make up for how he treated the blonde. "Dream, please, I know you're upset, this isn't you."
"This isn't me?"
"Who am I? Your deadbeat father? Your alcoholic mother?" Dream snarls, his voice growing angrier by the second. "Please! I know that under all of your angst and anger there's a-"
He gets cut off by Dream.
"A dying, broken heart. Caused by you."
"You know absolutely nothing about me! No matter what you do, you'll never change who you really are."
"You still wear what I gave you. While consistently you long for what we had."
George stares, wincing in pain as Dream draws blood. While the red continues to stain his clothes, which once were pretty, white and blue with gold accents. A royal blue cape, his crown broken into pieces behind Dream, taking every power he had away from him. Leaving Dream to be the one in control.
The trees rustle with the wind. The silence between them is strangely comfortable considering the horrors of what's going on, the ever-so-close murder of a once beloved hero, George Davidson. The moonlight shines on Dream's mask, his face no longer visible, he hid it after a fire in 2008.
"You know why I wear this mask, Davidson."
"You ruined me. I once loved myself. Now I'm a monster with no reason to live."
Dream carefully removes the mask, revealing his face. His green eyes still shining as they always have with that child innocence, though it's not real. It's all a facade. His face is burned, scars running everywhere on his face. His lips a deep red.
There's blood flowing from his nose, past his mouth, down his chin and onto the ground below them. The night fades into a sunrise. Oranges, pinks, reds, yellows, the beautiful sun that Dream had refused to look at for years. "Clay, please..please, I'll do anything for my perfect boy back."
"Anything?"
"I swear on my life."
"Never show your face again. Run away from society and let me forget you ever existed."
