*Boromir's Pov-

The strange coppery smell nearly knocked me off my feet. Usually, the smell of blood wasn't even that noticeable, but neither were any of the smells I kept smelling. I swallowed hard as Legolas pulled up beside me.

"A red sun rise... Blood was shed this night." I glanced towards the clearing ahead of us.

"Maybe she managed to find the Orcs and kill them off." Aragorn rested a hand on my shoulder.

"As strong as she is, Boromir, I highly doubt it." I swallowed hard and noted the nod from Gimili.

"I'm not giving up on her..." I continued on my way, followed by the others until I froze, hearing something that closely resembled thunder.

*Era's Pov-

"My lady, Era...?" I turned and saw Eomer riding towards me. "I'm sorry, but we couldn't find them." I swallowed hard and blinked hard. First, Boromir and, now, Merry and Pippin. I shook my head and looked towards the clearing.

"We have to keep looking..." He rested a hand on my shoulder.

"We have to keep going. I'm sorry..." I lowered my gaze as he continued. "You're welcome to come with us. We can send word to your father." I nodded.

"Thanks..."

*Boromir's Pov-

Aragorn must have heard it, too.

"Get back!" We did, only to see a large number of riders ride by. I cursed under my breath as I realized it was the Riders of Rohan. Something had to happen... Aragorn stepped out and called out to them. "Hail, Riders of Rohan! What news do you have of Rohan?" We followed him out into the open as the riders approached and surrounded us. The leader rode forward as his men lowered their weapons.

"What business does 2 men, an elf, and a dwarf have in these parts?" I frowned as I breathed, trying to figure out what I smelled. One of the riders came forward and removed her helmet. My jaw dropped as I looked up at her.

"Era!"

*Era's Pov-

"Era!" My heart stopped in my chest as I stared down at whoever had spoken. I shook my head, blinking hard.

"Boromir...?" He nodded, but I shook my head. "You can't be him... He died." He shook his head.

"You healed me, remember?" I shook my head and dismounted, staring at him.

"Yeah, but... You were gone. How can you be here?" Tears stung my eyes as I looked over at the others. "Is he really right here?" Aragorn smiled and nodded.

"Yes... He's really right there." I looked back at Boromir and took a tiny step towards him, reaching out. When I stopped short, I shook my head.

"It can't be him. If he were healed, his scent would have stayed the same." Boromir looked down at himself and nodded.

"Yeah, a lot of weird things have been happening..." My mind raced as I took a step back, shaking my head.

"It's impossible..." Eomer dismounted and narrowed his eyes at Boromir.

"Is everything alright, my lady? Do you know these men?" I nodded, keeping my eyes on Boromir.

"These are some of my companions..." He nodded and turned his attention to me.

"Would you like to be left in their charge, or would you like to continue with us?" I looked at him and noticed the jealous glint in his eyes and nodded.

"I would like to continue with them. But, I thank you for the assistance you have provided." He forced a smile and nodded.

"As you wish, my lady." He turned to face Aragorn. "Where are you heading?" Aragorn nodded towards the clearing where I had been caught the night before.

"We are looking for 2 hobbits, and we seek council with King Theoden of Rohan." Eomer shook his head.

"You would be better anywhere but in Rohan." He turned and looked at me. "As for the hobbits, I'm afraid we can't help you." I lowered my gaze as he shook his head. "I suggest you leave soon, though. You'd be safer in Gondor, considering who is in your midst." Boromir frowned as he stepped forward.

"What has happened?" Eomer faced him, glaring.

"If you must know, captain of Gondor..." He sounded as though he were spitting the title. "Rohan has been ravaged by Orcs for weeks on end, and our king's mind has been poisoned. He no longer knows friend from foe." I swallowed hard and stepped between them.

"What do you mean? Is he under an enchantment?" Eomer looked down at me.

"If you do to Eldoras, you will see for yourself." He nodded at me. "If we see your father, we will let him know that you are well. In the meantime, I wish you luck. Take these horses with you, and leave as soon as possible, though." He nodded at a few men, who produced us with 3 horses, mounted his horse and turned to his men. "We ride north..." With that, they were gone. I watched them go over the horizon, feeling helpless. Boromir stepped up beside me and rested a hand on my shoulder.

"Are you alright?" I turned and faced him.

"I don't know..." I looked at Aragorn. "What happened after I left?" He told me how they planned to send him off and how he awoke.

"The first thing he did was ask where you were, and he lead us right to you." I frowned and looked into Boromir's light eyes, which glistened with the same alert look I always saw in Mother's eyes.

"You can smell things?" He frowned and nodded.

"Yes... After all, I did follow your scent here." I trembled slightly as I backed off.

"How did this happen?" Legolas frowned.

"What's wrong, Era?" I turned to face him.

"I think I did more than heal Boromir." I swallowed hard as I looked up at him. "I think I turned you into a shapeshifter..."
