Being beautiful

Imagine a world where beauty is a curse. Where if you were born beautiful your parents would constantly bathe you in dirt and mess up your hair for your safety. Imagine a tyrannical king that would take you from your family just because your were physically appealing. You don't have to be a goddess, just remotely symmetrical with bright eyes, for in this world, bright, hopeful eyes were hard to come by.
