Hailey wasn't actually asleep. She just wanted to block the light from her lamp, and didn't feel like speaking to tell Jake to turn it off. Could she have just turned it off herself? Yes. But did she want to? No. She was too tired.

Hailey hears footsteps and hears her door open. She assumes it's Jake leaving, but she doesn't want him to.
"Jake wait.. Don't leave." She softly calls out

Jakes head whips around confused.
"Had she not been sleeping?"
He just shrugged his shoulders and made his way over to Hailey. Awkwardly, Jake sits on the bed next to Hailey. He didn't know if she wanted comfort or anything, but he stroked her back and played with her hair.

This sent Hailey into a snooze, just after a few minutes she was fast asleep. After about 30 ish minutes later Jake hadn't realized she fell asleep in the first few minutes, but finally noticed after checking on her. He hadn't noticed before because he was scrolling on his phone.

Jake slowly got off her bed, making sure to not wake her. He noticed there was some hair in Haileys face, so he calmly pulled the hair away from her face. He decided to leave a little note for Hailey when she woke up the next morning, the note just being "i'll see you on monday princess :)"

Jake was about to walk out the room when he looked back at Hailey peacefully sleeping. He walked back to her and planted a kiss on her forehead, immediately walking out after.

Monday

Hailey had been feeling better and was able to go to school this week.
She was currently in school before classes started speaking with Zander.

Hailey had told her parents Jake came over while they were gone, reassuring them that nothing happened and that he was just taking care of her. Zander of course didn't know. There would have been a new murderer in town.

While Zander and Hailey were talking she saw Jake by the lockers on his phone. After that Friday of Jake *attempting* to cook her soup, running her a bath, and comforting her until she fell asleep, she realized she might've have feelings for Jake.

Hailey was staring at Jake off in her own world, until he looked up at her, giving Hailey a small smile.
That was enough to send Hailey reeling as blush grew onto her face, quickly looking away.

Zander noticed this and stopped talking. He looked back and forth at Hailey and Jake getting angrier by the second. He couldn't imagine his sister liking such a douchebag. He notices Jake walking up to the two.

"Hey Hailey, how are you, are you feeling better?" Jake asks Hailey scratching the back of his neck.
"Y-Yeah, I am! I just wanted to say thank you for coming over and taking care of me."
"No problem. Anything for you, princess." He smiles at her again.

"What do you mean, Jake was over?"
Hailey had forgotten Zander was behind them both, and quickly started to explain, "It was not big deal Zander, he just came over while I was home alone sick. He made me soup, he ran me a bath and stayed in bed with me-"

"He was in BED with you?!" Zander yells clenching his fists. Both Jake and Hailey started blushing. "Don't scream it out loud you idiot!"(iykyk) Hailey whisper screams, "If you would let me finish, he was in bed with me because I asked him to stay. All he did was comfort me until I fell asleep, no 'funny business' happened."

Hailey put up for fingers for quotation marks when she said "funny business"
She did that because for some reason Zander called it that.
"Fine. I trust you." Just then the bell rings and Hailey walks off leaving Zander and Jake behind.

"Let me tell you something, Jake. If you ever mess with my sister, things won't look very nice." Zander gave Jake his usual daily death stare and walked off to get to class.

Jake just awkwardly stood in his spot for a few seconds before moving.

After school

Since Hailey was absent on Friday she had some makeup work to do so she stayed after school.

Now let's just say Jake wasn't the smartest, so he was also staying behind for some tutoring lessons.

Zander didn't bother to wait for Hailey because he had a bunch of homework, so he decided to go to the park with Luke to finish it.

Now about 45 minutes later, Jake and Hailey finished at the same time, cliché, right?
They just so happened to bump into each other and were walking home together.

On the way to their houses, Hailey kept thanking Jake for Friday. "I can't thank you enough Jake, how can I repay you?"

"Mmm, let me think." Jake says putting a finger on his chin. They stopped walking by now because they had just made it to Haileys house.

"Have you thought of anything yet?"
Hailey questions

"Yeah, I just did." Jake says smirking a bit. Jake grabbed both of Haileys hands, making her face him.

Hailey gets flustered and doesn't know what to do. Jake takes his right hand and puts it on her hip. "This is how you can repay me." Slowly Jake leans in and gives Hailey a gentle kiss. He pulls away and smiles at Hailey.

"Cya later, princess!" Jake says waving and walking off.
Hailey was still trying to comprehend what just happened.
She puts a hand on one of her warm cheeks and grins.

And when I mean they were at Haileys, Haileys is right in front of the park. Zander saw it all from start to finish.
