Seriously ?!?

Neteyam Pov

I run behind my father to help direct the helicopter. The clan surrounds us and shields their faces from the strong winds and flying sand; I do the same. The helicopter lands and I see Norman jump down in his avatar. He shakes hands with my father, and I can only think about explaining why y/n isn't here.

She didn't return this morning, and when I went searching for her, she was nowhere to be found; almost like she just vanished. I'm worried about her, but I need to focus on Kiri and being there for when she awakes.

My father guides Norman and Max over to our hut so that they can begin to look at Kiri. I notice my mother's uneasiness at all the machines attached to Kiri but allows it. After some time, the machines are up and running.

"Her brain activity is normal" Norman says.

"She seems perfectly fine, but what's causing her state of unconsciousness?" Max asks as he continues to look at Kiri's vitals. My mom sits next to Kiri hoping for any signs of movement.

A noise is made at the entrance of our hut causing my mother's head to shoot that way; Ronal enters carrying a basket of herbs and instruments. My mother jumps to her feet.

"I see I am not needed here" Ronal states as she turns to leave. Mother grabs her arm to stop her.

"You are Tsahik!" My mother exclaims. They share a look before Ronal looks at Kiri.

"Remove those things" Ronal says to my mother.

"Get out! You have done nothing!" My mother shouts to Max, Norman, and my father. They scramble grabbing the machines and head out the hut. I follow behind them to help if needed.

"Thanks for coming out here" my father says to Norman.

"No problem, but where's y/n ?" He asks my father

"She um-" he was beginning, I step out in front of him.

"She disappeared last night after an argument between my mother and her. I -" before I could continue, Norman cuts me off.

"You let her walk off and now she is nowhere to be found!?" he exclaims with anger showing on his face.

"Yes, but I went searching for her this morning" I say to him so he may calm down.

"Was she found?" He asks looking at my father.

"No" my father says.

"She could be hurt, dead, kidnapped! And you left her out there by herself!? She can't fully protect-" before he can continue, we hear a familiar voice.

"Myself? Seriously?!" Y/n exclaims from behind him.

Norman turns around and engulfs Y/n in a tight hug. She hugs him back but then pushes away from him.

"You really don't think I can protect myself?! You were the one WHO taught me everything!" she shouts at him.

Norman flicks y/n in her head and grabs both her shoulders. He crouches to her height and sighs.

"Y/n, I know what you're capable of, but I don't know when your transformation can kick in, so I don't want you to be alone, especially somewhere you weren't raised." He says sternly and gently pulls her in for another hug.

"Where did you go? We looked for you all morning" I ask her. She smiles and looks towards the sky.

"I know, I say you looking for me. You see, you were looking everywhere but up." she says as she nods her head towards the top of the hut. "I can back last night and slept up there" she says before grabbing her dad's hand.

"I got something to tell you." She says looking at him. He lifts an eyebrow and looks towards my father who nods at him. Norman turns his head back towards her and shrugs his shoulders.

"Alrighty kiddo" he says.

Y/n and I share a look with each other.

y/n pov

I pull away from my dad's hand and walk away from Neteyam and his father. Neteyam looks at me concerned and tilts his head before he is guided by his father back into the hut.

"Speaking of transformation -." I say to my dad, pulling him towards the Ilu pods. I turn back to wave at Neteyam, who waves back and enters the hut with his father.

"What exactly are you going to tell me y/n?" He asks with concern yet sternly.

"I have had a few incidents that may be connected with my transformation," I say as we continue walking, "I know I should've contacted you when it happened, but I didn't want you to worry! And I have to retrieve spider like I promise!" I say letting go of his hand to use them to explain my reasoning as we're walking.

"Y/n stop" he says in a strong tone. I stop walking and turn around to face him. His face shows different emotions, his arms are crossed, and he's staring my down.

"Dad look I-" before I can continue, he holds up his hand to stop me.

"You've gone through how many incidents?" He asks me. I stop to ponder if I should tell him a truth or lie?

"NOW Y/N" He shouts causing me to jump. I hold my head down in shame.

"3" I say holding 3 fingers. I look back at him and he's shaking his head.

"When was your most recent?" He asks me.

"a couple days ago. I had internal bleeding" I say walking into the water. My dad follows me into the water grabs my shoulder.

"Why didn't you say anything ahead of time? This is dangerous Y/n and you know that." he says crossing his arms. I hold my head down.

"Once spider is retrieve you are to return to the forest, do you understand?" he says to me. I pop my head up and smile.

"Yes" I say before hugging him tight. We let go of the hug before he picks me up and throws me into the water. I swim to the top before jumping onto him a pulling him into the water with me.

We spend our time playing in the water together before he gets up to leave. I give him one last hug before waving bye to him. I sit down in the sand when I hear someone sit next to me.

I turn to see Aonung next to me. I smile towards him then look back towards the water. We stare out into the water before he speaks up. 

"You miss it?" he questions.

"What?" I say turning to look at him.

"The forest. You miss it, no?" he questions once more.

"Of course, I do, but what can I do? I have to retrieve my brother and make sure the sully's stay safe." I say back towards the water.

"Why must you keep them safe? Are they not made up of warriors?" Aonung says

"Of course, they are, but I promised to protect them at all costs." I say standing up. I look out into the eclipse and sigh. I turn around and begin to walk away, hearing Aonung shuffling to get up and follow me. We walk in silence as we head to our designated huts. I walk in to see everyone sleep. I lay down next to Neteyam, who takes me in his arms, and drift off to sleep.
