The room is dark and cold, rain falling outside the window
i inch my body closer to yours,
slowly
as not to wake you
you continue to snore as your body turns and envelops mine
warm skin presses on my chest and i breath you in
your hand lays on my head,
rubbing circles into my hair before you fall deeply back into your dreams
i look up at you and see you, ever so slightly,
in the soft light from the candle on the desk
your eyelids have never looked so inviting
mouth agape like youre sharing a secret
two chins from having your head pressed so deeply in the pillow
i smile at you, though you will never know it
these are my favorite moments
the memories just for me
the rain on the window and the rise and fall of your chest
lulls me to sleep
