Where am I? - Chapter 1

What's going on...? Where am I? What happened? How did I get here? Where... is here? 

"Hello? Miss, are you alright?" I hear a soft voice as I slowly open my eyes, only to see a small girl with short black hair, a blue dress and a white backpack on.

The little girl backs up as I start to rise from my place on the cold, wet grass. I take in my surroundings and notice a large tree above and behind me, a strange, tall, glowing statue and a massive open field of grass. I glance back up at the young girl from earlier only to see her looking at me with a face covered in one emotion. Worry.

I look down at my clothes and notice I'm drenched from head to toe."Um...hi? I'm sorry, but who are you? And why am I soaking? And where am I? And how did I get here? And wha-" I start to rant but am cut off by a giggle from the girl in blue.

"Hehe... you talk funny," she grins up at me, the worry from before completely vaporised into thin air, "I'm Chloris, and you are in Mondstadt! I'm not sure how you got here, and it was just recently raining so that's probably why you're wet. What's your name by the way?"

I stop for a second, trying to remember what my name was. After a few seconds of thinking, I reply, "My name is Ophelia Raven... I think?" Huh, that's odd. I can't seem to remember anything else...and even just my name took a bit of time to recall. Strange...

I'm broken out of my mini trance by the girl, now known as Chloris, waving her hand in front of my face, seemingly trying to get my attention. "Yes?" I asked with a hint of confusion and annoyance in my voice.

"Sorry again Miss nice lady, but you looked lost, and I was wondering if you wanted directions to the city? Y'know, Mondstadt?"

I nodded my head with a small smile on my face and she walked me to the front of the statue I noticed before.

"See this path here?" She pointed to the path in front of us, "You'll want to follow it all the way to that large stone door thing. Then once you turn the corner, you'll see the bridge that goes over cider lake and into the city! Then I'm sure you will be able to find someone who can help you from there." She exclaims with a warm smile on her face.

I begin to thank her and head off towards the city, however I am stopped by her calling out to me. "Wait! Ophelia, there's one more thing you should know! There are some slimes near the path further ahead, so I suggest you don't stray too far from the track!" I shout back at her and thank her once again, and then continue onwards.

I arrive at the bridge in a matter of minutes, only having to stop once to ask a man, that introduced himself as Godwin, if I was headed in the correct direction of the city.

As I make my way over the bridge, I suddenly see a flock of what looks to be pigeons take off into the evening sky and hear a little boys' voice shout at me from my left.

"...What're you doing!! You're scaring the pigeons away!" He shouts at me.

"Oh, uh...sorry? There's not much I can do about it now..." I reply, trying my best not to make him more upset.

"Not much you can do? Hmph. Yeah, right! Mummy says that as long as you love the world, no animals will be scared of you! Otherwise, why do you think the pigeons aren't scared of me?" He goes on, and to be honest, I lost interest as soon as he opened his mouth.

"Right...Well if you don't mind, I have somewhere to be. Goodbye." I state as I continue towards the gates of the city.

"Wah... I'm telling Mommy on you!" He starts to cry as I ignore him and keep going forwards.

Making my way up to the gate I see two men who seem to be guards of some sort? I give them I slight nod as I try to step through the gates.

"Halt!" 

Chapter one! I know it's short but I hope you liked it :)

I will be posting at least once a week until this story is done! The easter holidays are coming up soon so i might post more, but for now the minimum is gonna be once a week :))
