This Might Be the End

Backstory: I wrote part of this (mainly the chorus) after I was ghosted by a guy that I, in retrospect, didn't actually have any kind of relationship with. We had talked (a lot) for a total of 15 days and then he disappeared for 5 months straight, popping in to say sorry before disappearing again. I haven't talked to him since. I'm over him now, but it was a big deal at the time. So just recently, I added more lyrics and it was really healing even though I'm done with him and have been for years.

1:
You walked into my life
Like your place was already decided
Warm eyes and tender smiles became my reality
But something in me whispered

Chorus:
Please don't go,
I'd only just found my home
Things don't have to change
We don't have to start a new age
I hate to say it,
but this might be the end

2:
It started with glazed eyes
I didn't want to read between the lines
But I could see you were ready to move on
But I didn't want to let you go

Chorus:
Please don't go,
I'd only just found my home
Things don't have to change
We don't have to start a new age
I hate to say it,
but this might be the end

3:
Now things are falling apart
You're not here and it's tearing at my heart
Wish you wouldn't walk away
And I don't know what to say, but

Chorus:
Please don't go,
I'd only just found my home
Things don't have to change
We don't have to start a new age
I hate to say it,
but this might be the end

Bridge:
Sometimes stories end
And there's nothing we can do
The best things in life are never permanent
I know this and still, my heart cries

Chorus:
Please don't go,
I'd only just found my home
Things don't have to change
We don't have to start a new age
I hate to say it,
but this might be the end
