Great wonders ( chapter 2 )

A/n- if you watch the last of us please know that there are spoilers for episode 6 if you didn't watch it yet since there's mentions of the show but enjoy this chapter :)

The light was coming through and it was bright and early . You groan as you blocked the incoming sunlight from the small window in the Rec room with your hand and you sighed and decided to just get up . They had das you asleep and didn't want to move you or wake you so they just left you to sleep .

You saw you had fallen asleep in the Rec room but you noticed that you weren't alone . You looked up to see Ghost walking past the kitchen.
He looked to see you and you both made eye contact . You made an awkward look and you got up from the couch and saw on the clock it read .
0600 . You sighed knowing it was too early but you were already awake so might as well start the day.

You stood up and caught your balance as you felt yourself get lightheaded . You held your arms out a little bit to balance yourself and you waited for the lightheadedness to do away . Once it was gone after a few seconds you stretched and yawned . Ghost had noticed you got lightheaded and he shook his head a bit .
" stood up too quickly hun ?."
He said In a deep gruff tone .

" maybe I guess ."
You shrugged as you walked over to him. You looked up at him and tilted your head and his eyes bored into yours . Even with the mask he looked tired but you didn't say anything . You stared at him and his eyes widened a little as if he raised his eyebrows .
" got a staring problem ?."
He asked .
" No , have a quiet problem ?."
You retorted as your eyes trailed off him .

He sighed and got his jacket and put it on and he headed to the outside . You followed him until he turned around .
" Why are you following me ?."
He asked .
" Where are you going ?."
You said wondering where he would go.
" I'm going to smoke ."
He said as he grabbed his smokes from his side pocket and he grabbed a lighter as he went to step outside .

You followed him again quietly as you watched him light his cigarette . You went to go over to him but he turned and looked at you.
" go inside , it's cold ."
He said sternly .
" But why , I'm not even cold ?."
You said as you crossed your arms .
" y/n.."
He said more sternly, causing you to back up a bit at the use of your real name .

You nodded and walked back inside quickly and once you were gone he shook his head and chuckled. He lifted his mask up halfway and he put the smoke to his lips and took a long drag before a string of smoke left his mouth . He looked up at the Now starting to clear sky and he saw how there was a bit of a breeze since the leaves on the trees were moving and rustling .

Currently Ghost and the others were stationed in
A part of Mexico and turns out they had a forest there and lucky you guys you were right in the middle of it . He sighed as he took another drag from his cigarette and he looked around . It was alone , gloomy and lonely but the sun was shining in . Kinda like his life , it was always sad and lonely but somehow the others manage to let in light .

He didn't like new things and he didn't like how he felt when he started to get attached . When he felt he would get attached he would distance himself from others like how he was doing now .
He felt he would get attached to you and he didn't want that , he didn't want to get attached since it would screw things up and make him worry .

He threw his dimly lit cigarette on the ground and he crushed it with his foot to prevent a fire and he walked back into base . He walked down into the hallways and back to the Rec room to see you sitting next to soap watching " the last of us " on hbo max assuming you hacked into another account to watch it.

When you were in foster care your foster parents didn't pay for anything such as cable tv or any sibcstions to watch anything so you had to improvise so you used your skills and ever since you've been watching so many shows for free.
" shit , zero you gave us a good shot in watching shows aye lass ."
Soap said as he nudged you .
" How else am I supposed to entertain myself?"
You said .

" say , how did you learn to hack anyways ?."
Soap asked while looking down at you .
" Well when I used to take computer classes in school I paid attention well and not only did I use my knowledge from that I had some extra teaching from myself."
You said nonchalantly.
" That's impressive ."
He said looking at you with a little smirk .

" Oh look who decided to come back."
You said as you watched ghost walk in the room .
Ghost looked at you with an unamused look in his eyes and he walked back to his room slowly and you heard a door shut in the distance.
" he'll lighten up eventually."
Soap said .

You and him both continued to watch the last of Us and you were in the middle of episode 6 "Kin".
Soap had decided to sit down and watch it with you since he had nothing else to do but gear up and get ready to train and do basic stuff. You watched the show and you watched and every minute intrigued you more .

" So uh what are we doing today ?."
You asked .
" Probably teaching you how to use a gun ."
Soap shrugged .
" That's awesome ."
You said as you turned to him real quick and turned back to watch tv .
A few minutes passed and you had finished the episode and wanted to throw something. Soap was in the kitchen and he ate some crackers and he leaned on the counter as he watched you come over .
" JOEL IS LIKE ON THE BRINK OF DEATH GOSH I HATE CLIFFHANGERS THAT END OFF LIKE THAT ."
You loudly and you heard soap giggle.
" Well wait till the next episode comes out ."
He said,

The others woke up and were geared up for the day and soap was just in a navy blue shirt with some blue jeans . The others had said good mornings and had gotten ready for the day.
Price walked up to you and you looked at him and crossed your arms .
" for today's training you will go out to the shoot range with soap , he'll teach you for today after we head to laswells ."
Price spoke .

" Okay then , aww hell yeah ."
You said excitedly.
" get dressed and meet back here ."
Soap said and you nodded and ran to your room to get dressed. You ran into your room and threw on some black cargo pants that were there and a dark green camo shirt . You tied your boots on quickly and got ready .

You ran out of your room back to wear soap to see him geared up and ready to go . You looked at him with a cheeky grin and he looked down at you.
" a normal shirt for once ."
He chuckled .
" Wait till you see another one that I have ."
You smirked and he rolled his eyes playfully .
" Are you ready to go ?."
He asked .
" fuck yeah !."
You said .
" language ."
You heard price say from down the hallway causing soap to chuckle .

" alright let's go ."
Soap said as he walked out of the Rec room and down the hallway . You followed behind him and thought about many things . It was cool that you had a home now but what also made you question is if they actually cared about you for you and not only for your skill . You tried to shake off the thought but nothing really worked . Soon you would have your reassurance that you needed .
