Mortified. Taehyun was mortified. Beomgyu was a demon. A gorgeous demon. And apparently the most powerful mage in the whole kingdom of Asteria. Taehyun had heard about a strong tower magician that had served the royal family for a very long time, but he was expecting a high elf or something, not a demon. And definitely not someone who had lost count of their age. Beomgyu was ancient, which meant that Taehyun should have been the one respecting him despite being a royal.

Looking back at their interactions, Taehyun couldn't help but internally scream at his idiotic self. It was well known that Beomgyu, the highest ranked tower magician, didn't need to greet the Asterian royals like everyone had to. The royalties are the highest status in Asteria, and Beomgyu was an equal to a royal. The loyal protector of the royal family and kingdom; that was who Beomgyu is. And Taehyun thought he was just a moderately skilled forest fairy who got a random task to recover the dead garden.

But then again, Taehyun should have known better. Only trusted individuals were allowed into Invis. His nanny, who used to take care all of his older siblings. His professor, a man with no social ties and connections, was exclusively hired by the royal family to teach the children. The trustworthy swordsmaster, a retired general, now old but still burly and strong. Kai, the orphaned light fairy who grew up with the royal children as their playmate and studymate. So Beomgyu was someone who had earned his family's trust. And that meant he was an important person. Taehyun had really thought he was just a rude and weird fairy.

It was also how he thought demons were atrocious looking. He knew that there lived a few demons among them, but he never knew there was one in the castle. He never knew the greatest tower magician was a demon. He had always believed that most of the demons were malicious and always blood thirsty. But Beomgyu was the complete opposite. Beomgyu was the prettiest and the most gentle person he had ever met. The way he took care of the plants, his gentle and caring touches, his warm smiles and soothing deep voice, his remarkable patience and tolerance. Beomgyu was such a dreamy person that Taehyun was finding it difficult to process the fact that he was a demon. But Kai had no reasons to lie to him.

Despite learning that Beomgyu was trustable and a really nice person, Taehyun couldn't help but feel a little cautious because he was a demon in nature. There had to be some demon qualities in him; Taehyun was sure of it. Maybe Beomgyu had a twisted hobby that he kept hidden or maybe he had been putting on a facade of a nice magician.

Currently, the prince had just returned to his room from the small library of Invis, having found a whole new look to the garden outside his window. Different trees had filled up the place, along with healthy grass, bushes and blooming flowers. He stood stunned by the window as he slowly took in the new view. Soft colours painted the garden, comfortable and easy on his eyes. Sweet but not overwhelming scents travelled to his room as the breeze gently blew, giving him a completely new experience. It was his first time seeing and smelling a garden. It felt amazing and refreshing.

"Evening, prince Taehyun."

Recognising the demon's voice, the prince turned his head to the side to see the magician leaning against of the wall out of the window.

"Who are you?!" Taehyun exclaimed. He was so sure that it was Beomgyu's voice, but it seemed to belong to someone else. He had raven hair, glowing skin as if he had applied jelly cream or serum to make his skin shine so beautifully, dark iris and a quiet aura surrounding him; completely different from the Beomgyu he knew who had fluffy auburn hair, warm brown eyes and a bright yet calm energy.
