I was walking in the woods during the peak of the Georgian heat. Sweat rolled off my forehead only to be caught by the bandana wrapped around the bottom half of my face. My hair stuck to my face, both through sweat and grease. I can't remember the last time I showered. I'd been basically on the run since the start. Well I had been trained for killing people so I guess I was kind of used to the running and the thrill of getting chased and killing others basically in cold blood. I believe if someone wrongs you without reason, you retaliate, and if someone can't do that for themselves I'm happy to help. The AR-15 kept bobbing and hitting the same point on my back making it hard to concentrate. That's gonna leave a bruise a least.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard rapid fire in the distance. I ran closer to the sounds. Close enough to see them, but far enough that they can't see me. I could vaguely see the outline of a prison and I figured that's where it's coming from. I also noticed that there were people surrounding it firing in. I pulled out my AR-15, which luckily I had found a night scope and a silencer in one of the gun shops that had been almost completely looted, and rested it on the log in-front of me. I tried to get a better look of what was happening. From what I can tell, the people from the inside are practically defenceless and we're not expecting this fight. So I'll help them and maybe see if I can get a little bit of food or a shower or something. I feel so gross, on top of the sweat was lingering blood from both humans and the dead but that's a different story.
There was a man just outside the gates being shot at by another man in the woods. He was practically under the bridge and looked like he couldn't pinpoint who that was coming from, so I decide that the man shooting at him is my first target. Straight through the temple, like always. The man under the bridge looks bewildered before getting up and checking the surroundings. I then angled my gun so I could see inside the prison from the scope. There was a woman on the floor in the middle covering herself with a man. More and More bullet holes littered his body. She was my first priority. I stalked closer to see if I could tell where the firing was coming from. A watch tower. I didn't have the log to rest on this time so I put it in the crook of my arm and aimed. Luckily, the man was facing the side and I had a very clear shot of his temple. I shot and he fell, banging his head on the bars on the way down. I looked down at the people below and... oh Jesus. They have a kid, maybe a teen as well. There is no way I'm letting these men kill that kid. Then everything went silent. Fuck. This can't be the end. What do they have planned. There's a truck on its way. I can hear it, it sounds to heavy to be a car (unless it's a military car which I wouldn't put past these people.) I was right, it's a truck. It has a weird cage sort of opening at the back. SMASH and it's through both of the gates, almost crushing one of the people inside. It stops in the middle of the field. Everything's quiet for a second. The back crashes to the floor and at least two dozens of the dead walk out. The firing starts again, whether it was at the dead or the people around I don't know but I started on the dead. Each shot through the temple. It's the easiest way to reach the brain as it's the softest. I cleared about 12 of them before I realised that the main problem is gonna be the dead on the outside. Clever pricks. They knew this would happen and that was the main focus. That's why they destroyed the gate and let the dead out of the van. As a fucking distraction. I killed the ones closest to the man I saved first as he was the most in danger, and his ammo had run out. Then started clearing the ones in his path. I killed the one he was holding down on his arm just as an arrow flew into the one above his face. I looked at the man who shot it and he gave a nod. I nodded back and let him practically reunite as the people inside shut the gates to prevent the dead on the inside of the fence getting inside of the walls. A man kept punching the ones who are dead for some reason. I shot one of the dead trying to take a bite of the biggest behind him and he looked straight at me.
"Next time be more careful, stop being so fuckin self absorbed about killing one."
The other men then turned to look at me.
"Now, now sugar I know you saved my life but that's no way to talk to fella stronger than you is it?"
His tone of voice made me cringe, he gave me creepy step dad vibes and I didn't like it.
"I can assure you I'd win 'fella' and don't go round calling girls sugar who you don't know."
The guy I had saved looked at me, I pointed at him.
"And I saved your ass more than twice so you're welcome to."
"I appreciate it. Now I have to go help MY family,"
"I scoped out the place, I'm assuming the boy in the sheriff hat is your son? He's safe and so is the blonde girl with the pony tail. Shot one of the mother fuckers shooting at them."
He had a cold expression on his face but I could tell he was relieved. I almost forgot to ask.
"You know, for saving you could I at least have some food? I haven't eaten in a while and I can wait here if you want. I'm not one of those people don't worry. I'll tell you everything about me so you trust me but we kinda need to get out of the way of the dead surrounding us right now."
He looked at me a gleam of distrust in his eyes. He looked very on the edge anyway. He looked back inside and started breathing heavy and lowering his eyes. He's unstable, probably not the best person to have asked.
