Where it all started

When I realized

From that moment on me and Liam started to text each other everyday. I didn't realize it at the time but I was slowly falling for him. I mean what's not to like about him. He's nice. He's cute. He's a barrel racer. And a whole bunch of other stuff. He's just everything I've been waiting for. One night he texted me this.
"Hey Alex, we 've been talking for a while. I wanted to know if you would like to go out on a date to the movies or go ride horses. You can ride Dakota if you want~."
"Yeah sure I would like to go on a date. And yes ofc we gotta bring Dakota with." i replied back "Ok meet me at my barn at 6 tomorrow." he texted.
"Ok i'll see you there" I replied.
I ran down the stairs to go to my mom and say.
"Mom! Mom! I have a date with Liam tomorrow!! I need help picking out an outfit. We're gonna go horseback riding together!" I saw how excited my mom was when she heard what I just said. "Ok Lets go look at what you have."
We go upstairs and start looking through my clothes to find an outfit. We suddenly found it. A greenish-blueish lace shirt. With black pants and my good riding boots. We set it aside and go downstairs.
"Alex has a date with liam!~" My mom abruptly said while squealing.
My brother wasn't surprised at all. I mean he saw how Liam was because they were bestfriends and he apparently always smiled at his phone as if he won the lottery. My brother always tells me how Liam talks about me and he tells me everything that happens when he's over there. When I hear my brother talking about that stuff I can't help but get butterflies. I look at my dad and I can tell he doesn't like this idea.
"Dad, what's wrong?" I ask shyly
"He just doesn't want you to grow up so fast. You're his only daughter." My mom replied to him. He looks away and nods. I stand up and walk to him and kiss his cheek.
"Dad, you will never lose me. I'm your daughter and you're my dad. Nobody will replace you and that's final." I say smiling
He smiled at that. I knew that helped with his worry. I don't want my dad to worry about me. I want him to know that I would never leave him for a dumb guy. I mean Liam isn't dumb. Well Dad knows what I mean. I go into the kitchen and start cooking. My mom walks in.
"Honey, you know your dad loves you." My mom says quietly.
"I know. I know. I Love him too. I don't wanna disappoint him." I say while cooking supper. I look down while cooking.
"I don't wanna disappoint any of you. That's why I always push myself. Especially in competitions."
My mom grabbed my face gently and tears up. "Oh Honey you never disappoint us. We're really proud of how much you have done. And how much you've grown from when you were little."
I started tearing up. I hugged my mom. We went back to cooking. We were cooking my brothers favorite pad thai. Once the food was done i brought it out. My brother was so excited. He finished all of it in a heartbeat.
