⇨ Chapter 08: Final

Start from the beginning

Your eventually came across Todoroki's hanging body, "I came back. I couldn't—"

"Hey! Watch it! Mr. Aizawa's coming!" You looked back, only to see your teacher running on a telephone line. You were conflicted about what to do, if you should save Todoroki or run. "(Y/N). You've got a plan, don't you? I'm sorry, I should've asked before, and not told you what to do. But you have an idea, right?"

"Your plan didn't work. What makes you think mine will?" Your gaze was set on the warm tar at your feet.

Todoroki sighed, not because he's frustrated with you, but at himself. He should've asked before springing to action and getting himself caught. "I'm saying that you're the one who's better at this kind of stuff, not me! When we were up against the Hero Killer, you were the one who immediately knew what to do. You protected Midoriya and Iida. You protected me. You were the one who brought down Stain."

"Giving up?" Aizawa asked.

"Not yet." You used the same knife as before to cut Aizawa's cloth from keeping him above ground. He fell on the floor, hitting his head pretty hard. This gave you enough time to untie Todoroki and lower him slowly. "We can still beat Mr. Aizawa."

"So, you've got a strategy?" Todoroki asked, readying himself to fight.

"Yes. I've been thinking about it since the beginning. His weakness."

"All right, I trust you. Tell me what to do." The boy assured. You both shocked to see Aizawa up and moving already—he had jumped to a rooftop for some recovery time.

"You're pretty smart, (Y/N)." Aizawa said, casting his cloth out to you and Todoroki. He figured you knew about his need to rest in between erasures and the limit to which he can hold a cancellation. Even if you hadn't been at school during that time, he was impressed with your knowledge of the fact.

Todoroki tried using his fire, but it had been erased by Aizawa, causing a sigh of frustration from the teen. Now it was your turn to take his hand, and run away, he followed right after you. "Since he was injured, his quirk has become unstable."

"Because of what happened at the USJ? How do you know about that?" He looked at the back of your head with confusion across his face, still keeping pace with you.

"I have my ways. For now, we just need to get out of his field of vision. It's all a matter of timing." You said, taking a sharp turn to the right.

"Timing? How is getting out of his sight gonna help us with that? He can still take our quirks whenever he sees us."

"Just do as I tell you. Keep checking to see if you can use your ice power, okay?" You frowned, running low on breath from the amount of running.

"Not fast enough, kids!" Aizawa shot his restraints out like a spider.

There would be a brief interval when Aizawa would blink before he could use his quirk again. That's when Todoroki noticed he could use his ice, coming to a swift stop. In that moment, Todoroki attacked, creating a giant ice wall to keep Aizawa away.

"We need a diversion." You said, going into a house and coming back out with two black blankets and a pillow. "We have to allow one of ourselves to get caught."

"I'll do it."

"Great, then when he realizes it's a trap, I'll slap the cuffs on his wrists." You held the golden hand cuffs in the air, not completely sure this plan would work. "Ready?"

"Yep." Todoroki said, putting a blanket over himself and another over the pillow. He'd carry the pillow beside him as he's running, making it look like another person is with him. Aizawa will see this and rush in before they can escape.

As this played out, Aizawa was visibly confused, unaware of your presence behind him. You kicked the back of his knees, bringing him to the floor and holding the dagger to his neck. "Ready to surrender?"

"You got me." Aizawa held his hands in the air, allowing you to slap the cuffs onto his wrists.

"It all went according to your plan." Todoroki admitted in disbelief.

"Honestly, it shouldn't have worked." You professed, to Todoroki, but also to yourself. "It was poorly executed on my part; Aizawa could've easily jumped away once he revealed you underneath the blanket, but he didn't."

"It really was just a matter of timing like you said. Thanks, (Y/N)." Todoroki said. "Impressive for someone who's been here for a little less than a month."

"Oh, hush." Your cheeks lit up a light pink hue. "Besides, I couldn't have done it without your help."

The announcer came on over the conversation, "Team (Y/N) and Todoroki have passed the final exam!"
