⇨ Chapter 08: Final

Start from the beginning

"This is nothing. It was all you in that fight. You were the one to act so fearlessly against him." He tried to uplift your spirit, able to tell you were crawling with the unwanted thoughts of failure.

"No. You're wrong." You stopped, causing Todoroki to stop with you. "In terms of the practical skills that a hero needs, I haven't really managed to do anything on my own that stand out. During the battle with Stain, it was pure luck that I thought fast. I got hit more than I should've and almost had a fatal injury."

Todoroki had a long stare at you before gasping, "Shit. (Y/N). You're not making those icicles! He's coming!"

"I'm sorry." You quickly apologized before turning around to be face to face with Aizawa.

"If you know I'm here, then you should be acting." Aizawa hung upside down from a lamppost by his cloth, he jumped down. "I would suggest that you prioritize evasion since I've taken your power from you."

"(Y/N). Go!" Todoroki shouted as he kicked at Aizawa's figure. His plan went to shit; Aizawa cancelled both of your quirks and it was your fault. You shouldn't have stopped to talk about your past failures—instead, you should've been focused on your opponent.

"Is that what your plan is?" Aizawa asked before using his cloth to bind Todoroki to the lamppost he once hung from. Todoroki grunted, surprised by the man. "Then this will be simple. I was always going to catch you first since you're the team's offense."

"You think you've caught me? This is nothing. I can burn or freeze these restraints in an instant." Todoroki sassed a little, watching Aizawa walk away.

"Do whatever you want. Just be careful where you land." Aizawa spoke, sending thousands of spikes to lay on the floor before Todoroki.

"Caltrops? This is your strategy? You pretending to be some kind of ninja?"

"This is very different from when you faced the Hero Killer. I know about your quirks and what you can do. I'm perfectly prepared to defeat you both." Aizawa took out a small green bottle, lifting up the shield for his eyes to put eye drops in. "Your plan placed most of the burden on yourself. It's nice you tried to be considerate to the girl, but maybe you should have actually talked this over with her."

You panted, unsure how much further the gate was from where you were. You ran as fast as you could trying to find your way out of the maze. You tried to think hard, was there any way you could use your quirk to help you at all? Would you be able to pass the way you're going now? Is there a shorter route you should take? You couldn't tell.

You could hear Aizawa as he used his cloth to hop around from rooftop to rooftop. You kept reminding yourself not to look back. If Aizawa was there, that meant something had happened with Todoroki. In a flash, Aizawa grabbed your wrist using his bind.

"I'm gonna hit you where it hurts! Let's see which of us is stronger!" Aizawa said, enjoying the displeased look that he received from you. You didn't have a chance against your own teacher, but you pulled back as hard as you could. You remembered a knife you had taken from Stain, bringing it out into the light and cutting the restraint against your wrist.

You began to run again, running the opposite way as before to find Todoroki. Aizawa watched from the building, seeing you in a distressed state. He waited a few moments before going after you, allowing you to get somewhat of a head start.
