You open your eyes in this familiar world. So much has changed since you left, yet it all managed to look the same. It felt like years have passed since you set foot on the soft grass, but you manage to make out a faint, small dirt path. You squint your eyes in attempt to see where it goes in the distance, hesitant to follow it. However, there is this lingering feeling that pulls you towards whatever awaits at the end. Like something has been waiting all this time for your return.

Reluctantly, you start walking, starting to trust your heart. As you silently make your way along the path, you come across a forest. It wasn't too dense and you found it quite easy to navigate, tracing your fingers along the rough bark of the dark oak trees, and the strong vines that hugged the trunk. The rustling of the leaves in the wind made you shiver.

It brought back memories of cutting trees down for resources, leaving you with bandaged hands... The pain was bitter but you did it anyways, with a sense of pride, knowing that the wood would go far into your journey. Although, you never finished your journey.. Why? To put it in simple terms, you grew up. You came back to this world a far different person as how you left it. In a good way though, you matured and grew. You tried to move on from this world, and continue on, someplace else. Somewhere new, but something at the back of your mind was telling you to go back here, at least for a little while. And so you did.

You noticed many more features of the forest you didn't think younger you would understand. The flowers, and how they'd often bloom in patches, rather than scattered around the place. And they way each different type of tree stayed in they're respective biomes. As you passed a dark cave, you even realized how the little critters and creepy-crawlies keep to the shadows. Everything had a place. Everything seemed to fit in perfectly, creating some sort of balance in this world. A world that you once, and will again, find comfort and peace in.

The dirt path seemed to shift in direction under your feet, until you realized you were getting lost in your thoughts and stray away from your original path. You recentre your sense off direction on the brown soil and continue strolling through the forest. Chills were sent down your spine, as the breeze seemed to get colder. The atmosphere also changed along with the wind, the tree canopy started getting thinner and thinner, until you came to the end of the forest.

What lay ahead, caused you to widen your eyes. A ravine, that seemed to stretch miles. It looked as if the world was being split in half. Your curiosity and wonder for this world only seemed to grow as you slowly walk next to the edge of the huge crack, taking all the scenery in. Pools of lava illuminated the ravine floor, revealing all kinds of unique features. The sound of water, trickling down the coarse, jagged edges of the rock wall flooded your ears like pleasant white noise. As you wandered along the ravine, you spotted a small, nicely decorated bridge.

It was small, and simple, built from a mixture of birch and oak, but was decorated with lovely flowers and small lamps along the wooden fences. The bridge stretched all the way over the ravine, which lead to the continuation of the dirt path on the other side. Another familiar feeling waved over you.. the feeling of pride once more. But you didn't know why. Your heart pushed you to cross the bridge, but the shakiness of your legs prevented you from going any further...
