"Trust me, I've taken care of everything, so now close the door and relax, okay?" he looked at her lovingly. Phoebe sighed, "Alright. Be glad I just can't resist your blue eyes" she muttered as she pulled the door shut behind her and walked to the elevator together with Joe.
"a lodge and spa resort?" Phoebe read the sign in surprise as Joe drove through the front gate onto a fairly large property completely surrounded by woods. As far as she could tell, they were near Columbus.
The drive had taken about an hour and a half and Joe had been right, he really had provided for everything. In addition to a thermos of tea and snacks, he'd even put together a playlist especially for the drive that included songs he knew Phoebe liked, that reminded him of her, or that he liked.
"I was looking for a place where we would be really safe by ourselves and where we wouldn't be disturbed by too many people. Also, it's supposed to be really hard to get service here, so no one can reach us either" Joe explained with a grin as he parked the car and unbuckled his seatbelt. Phoebe looked at him, beaming. "It...is perfect"
After Joe checked them in at the recpetion, they got the key to their lodge and together they walked the trails through the woods to the small house. Quite a gentleman, Joe carried the suitcases while Phoebe looked around in amazement.
The small wooden logde looked just perfect for the two of them. A small covered terrace led to the door, through which one stepped directly into a small living room with a couch, two armchairs and a small fireplace.
A small kitchen, with refrigerator and microwave was located to the right. On the wall was a small wooden table with two chairs. Overall, everything was totally cozy and comfortable, and despite the cold temperatures outside, a comforting warmth immediately spread through Phoebe.
"What do you think of this?" Joe murmured in her ear as he wrapped his arms around her body from behind and pressed a kiss to her hair. "I...I love it" Phoebe beamed before turning to Joe and placing her lips on his.
"It's just perfect. I don't even know how to thank you for it" she stroked his cheek. "I have an idea" Joe grinned and pinched Phoebe's butt cheek while Phoebe laughed and slapped him on the upper arm.
"But we have dinner reservations in an hour, and I think you'll want to get settled in a bit before that, won't you?" Joe looked at her questioningly. Phoebe nodded. "And maybe make myself look a little pretty for you" she winked at him before grabbing her suitcase and walking towards the only door there was. Most likely the bedroom.
"I'll take you in sweatpants too. Trust me, you'd still be the most gorgeous company" Joe called after her. Laughing, Phoebe opened the door. "Suck up" she called back before closing the door again.
She hoisted her suitcase onto the large king size bed that pretty much filled half the room and looked around the room a bit. There was another door that probably led to the bathroom, otherwise all that was left in the room was a small wooden closet and two nightstands on either side of the bed.
The comforting warmth continued to spread through Phoebe as she smiled and opened her suitcase to rummage through her clothes. Joe had really outdone himself, which is why she definitely had to really score with her dinner outfit. Only the best for him, she thought to herself as she pulled out a few pieces.
Ok first of all, yes it hurts like shit to loose and especially so close but Im still more than proud to be a fan of the Bengals and to support them! What they did this season was unbelievable, so many players stepped up when a player went down. We proved so many people wrong that just talked shit about us, one hit wonder? Super bowl hangover? Never gonna make the playoffs after the 0-2 start? Look where it all ended, look how far we have come.
We had our ups and downs, the Halloween game against the Browns? Oh boy, wish I could forget that... losing Chido and La'El for the season, playing games without TB, Ja'Marr, Tee, Joe Mixon, DJ, Sam, Trey, Mike.... Every time we fought back and thats what makes that team so special!!!
Im so sad this season is now done, cant wait for the new one to start tho. Seeing this team together, even stronger after that loss? It's going to be epic!!!
Now to the game last night (it was after 4am for me when it ended, just horrible) I want to say a few things..... (if youre a fan of the chiefs or Pat Mahomes/ Travis Kelce, i advise you to skip this part. It's my opinion and if you dont agree, tbh idfc)
Sure, our offense was weak, really bad tbh in the first half, well especially first quarter. Luckily our defense stepped up and made some good plays and stopped them good. Sam, I love you for this fumble recovery, please create more turn overs next season!!!). Without our defense I would have lost all hope in the halftime...
I wont say that KCs win was undeserved, they weren't absolut incredible, they didnt played bad but lets just get this clear, the refs helped them a lot....like wtf, who can someone call himself not bias when he judges in two complete different ways? How could they not see the personal fouls, the holdings, the pass interference, the face masks against the bengals but every little grab against KC? how is it possible that KC played that one 3&9 THREE FUCKING TIMES?
We dont know if that game would have ended differently when not the whole NFL (especially Tony Romo, hope he finds the way back out of Mahomes ass, that fucking idiot) would suck Mahomes dick. He is a great QB, ngl, he has to have some talent sure but the way all the people are praising him like hes a fucking god just gets on my nerves. He has so good throws, I admit, but he also has some really bad one no one talks about, so please just stop acting like hes so much better than anyone else....ugh
Last thing i want to say, Travis Kelce has a face that I just want to punch.
