Prologue

The loud whisper of the wind is shaking the whole building, wanting so bad to break the windows and whatever material is present.

The end is here. I can hear it.

The cold air going through the broken windows is consuming my whole being.

The end is here. I can feel it.

A large wave, around 20 meters in height, is rushing towards where I am.

The end is here. I can see it.

And in one snap, my end came.

"Ry! Man, where have you been? I panicked when I lost you in the crowd!" A guy around my age, about 3 inches shorter than me shouted.

At first I thought he was talking to the person behind me but I can see him walking towards me with a smile, two large foot longs, and two cans of soda. I tried to smile too. Acting as if I know him.

"What do you mean? I was just here the whole time!" I said to him.

This guy looks like an average guy. Maybe 5 foot and 8 inches tall. He is wearing a blue baseball cap backwards and a windbreaker jacket that looks fit for him. His hair is wavy and blonde. I am guessing this is my friend.

He sits beside me.

"Here, have these." He hands me the food and drinks he is carrying.

I looked at him curiously. Hesitant to receive what he is handing.

"Come on, dude! My hands are shaking already." He exclaimed.

I singlehandedly got the food and drink.

"What is happening with you, man?" He asked. As if already feeling that I am uncomfortable.

"Where am I?" Those words blurted out my mouth.

"What do you mean? We're here in the baseball stadium. Watching our favorite team play!" He answered. Still watching me with the same curious eyes as mine.

"Oh, right! I remembered. I must've spaced out." I said with a snort.

We stopped talking then continued watching the game. However, my mind was somewhere else. What am I doing here? I have a friend? I'm alive? How?

Those questions kept bothering me until the end of the game.

"That was a bad game for our team!" The voice of this guy brought me back to reality.

"Yeah, too bad." I said nonchalantly.

"Maybe we should just go home and watch a movie." He said to me cheerfully.

"Yes, that's a good idea."

This man was such a pain in the ass. He kept talking to me while the movie was on and kept asking questions and he seems to be assuming that I already saw this movie. Well, I haven't. I don't even know what movie is this nor the actors in it. Nevertheless, I believed he was enjoying the movie. Seeing that now he's asleep in my expensive and odd couch in a large living room of my supposed to be home, the movie is indeed lame as I thought it was.

I left him there then went upstairs only to be welcomed by a king-sized bed. Man, it looks so comfortable. Something I have never felt in my entire life. I quickly jumped in that bed getting all warm and cozy. I stared at the ceiling wondering what happened to me and how I got here, hoping that this is not a dream. Ah, hope. Something I have never felt in my entire life too.

I can't sleep. My mind is just everywhere. I look at the bedside table and saw that it's already 5 AM. I glance at the window and felt the need to jog. I got up and picked up some sweatpants and a hoodie. The man who I was with last night was still in my couch.

I felt the cold air as I jog around the block. There are few houses around this block. Most are bungalows. I think the house I stayed in was the only one that's a two-story residence. There are also few people who are already up and are already watering their front yard. Some even tried to greet me with a smile. I didn't know what to react because honestly, I don't have any idea who these people are. So, I just fastened my pace and moved past them.

"Hey, Ryker! How's it going?" An old man with winter-white hair, blood-flecked eyes shouted from a distance. I looked back and saw a really familiar face. I know that voice, I know that built.

As I was still running, it was too late when I looked ahead. I already bumped into this midnight-black haired woman who was walking towards my way.

I woke up the next day in a hospital bed.
