Chapter 1: Franzes

It's the 8th of February 2022. It was 6AM and I was getting ready for school. I ate breakfast, took a shower then got changed into my uniform. I heard the doorbell ring, so I come and get it. It was my best friend, Triana, going to pick me up as per usual. I hop in the car and the second I got in, she kept talking nonstop about her crush, Luis. I got super annoyed and bored so I just put my AirPods on and listened to Le Sserafim, also known as the K-pop band I'm so obsessed with. Triana hates K-pop so she hates me listening to it. She realized I wasn't listening to her and got more annoyed then me. I started dancing and singing sarcastically. She rolled her eyes and just kept driving. Once we arrived at school, me and Triana walked to first period. We were early so I just slept until the teacher arrived. When the teacher entered the classroom, her voice was really loud so I jumped waking up, Triana asked if I was okay and everyone else stared at me for a good 10 seconds until the teacher started to talk. In the middle of the very long boring lesson, I found myself staring at this one boy, Franzes, who was really smart. He always recites and he's the top 1 of our class. He's in period 1, 6, 7, 9 with me, and he's top 1 in all of those. At the end of 1st period, me and Triana walked to 2nd period. I'm in period 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 with her. We're also in the same period as Luis at 2nd period. When we arrived at 2nd period, me and Triana just had a conversation all throughout the subject about Luis. She's extra extra annoying when she's talking about Luis. 2nd period ended, nothing special happened in 3rd-5th period, but when it was time for 6th period, something special did happen. I realized I was slowly gaining romantic feelings for Franzes. After 6th period, me and Triana we're planning to skip 7th period because we forgot to study for a test. We're planning to hang out on the bathroom for all 7th period. Me and Triana rushed to the bathroom so teachers won't see us. Me and Triana stayed in one stall and kept having funny conversations and laughing as if we were drugged.
The bathroom was really dirty, I don't know how we managed to stay there for an hour. But anyways, I found the right time to tell her about my crush. "Hey Triana, I have something to tell you" I said. "What is it?" she asked. "You know that smart boy on 1st period?" I asked. "Yeah, what about him? You better not have a crush on him" she said. "Well...." I said. "You're kidding?" Triana said. I was silent for 5 seconds then Triana laughed to hard. "Your type is so weird" she said. "But whatever makes you happy, bestie" she said in a genuine tone. "Thanks" I replied. Immediately after that, we realized that were late for 8th period so we rushed to the classroom. When we entered, everybody stared at us and the teacher stopped talking. We just went to our seats and laughed quietly. This one girl, Sarah, who was also in 7th period with us told us she went to the bathroom during 7th period, and the next thing we know, we were in the principal's office talking the test. That little snitch, she makes my blood boil. Me and Triana were miserable while talking the quiz. The principal said she was gonna head out to do something. The second she stepped out of the office, Triana was planning to escape. I didn't think it was a good idea 'cause I didn't wanna get trouble. "Suit yourself" Triana said. Triana was about to stand up from her seat but we heard someone that's about to come in. It was Franzes. A teacher asked him to get test papers. It was super awkward in there. I just said "Hi, I'm Myra from 1st, 6th, 7th, and 9th period". "Oh, hi!" He replied. "So, what are y'all here for?" He asked. "We skipped 7th period because we had a test" I replied. "Oh I see. Maybe I could tutor you." He said. "That.. would be great!" U replied. "Well, I got to go now, the teacher's waiting!" He said in a hurry. When he left, Triana said "That was amazing!" while laughing. We continued the test. When it was time to go home, me and Triana wanted to go to Starbucks. I hopped into her car and played some more K-Pop to annoy her. When we arrived at Starbucks, we ordered some food and drinks then picked a place to sit. "So, I was planning to confess to Luis tomorrow" said Triana. "That's great, I'm so happy for you!!" I replied. "When you confess to Franzes, we could go on double dates" she said lifting her eyebrows 2 times. "Oh stop" I replied. We both laughed after. When our order arrived at our table, we took some photos for Instagram and talked more about stuff and boys. When we finished our food, it was so late. Triana dropped me off at my house and my parents were furious. I was grounded for 2 days, I can't use my phone. I went straight to my older sister Niean's room. Most siblings usually fight, but me and Niean are the opposite. She likes to spoil me and she gives me the best advice and comfort words. She's the best. I told her about my crush and she was so happy that I finally have one. We watched a movie in her room but we fell asleep half way through the movie. The next morning, I was so exited to go to school, I was never ever this exited to go to school! Triana dropped me off and I was rushing to 1st period. Once we reached the classroom, my eyes went straight to Franzes. I wanted to ask him to be friends. Triana encouraged me, ofcorse. The teacher came in and it was too late now. At the end of 1st period, I went up to Franzes, and asked if he wanted to be friends and hang out sometimes. He said "sure, why not!" I was so exited that I couldn't focus on the rest of my classes. At the end of my classes, I found him just going outside his classroom for 9th period. I asked him for his number so we can communicate. Triana squealed. When I got home, I told Niean, she squealed too. I texted Franzes "Hi, it's me from 1st, 6th, 7th, and 9th period" I typed. "Hiii" he typed back. "After school, do you wanna go to the mall with me, Triana, Luis later?" I asked. "Sure, but who's Luis?" He said. "He's Triana's friend" I said. "Oh, cool, igtg now" he replied. I couldn't sleep that night, but I eventually did, at like 3am. I woke up, got ready for school, Triana picked and dropped me off, boring day at school, blah blah blah. But then, it was time for dismissal. Me, Triana, Luis & Franzes met up outside. We all hop into Triana's car. "Hey Franzes, do you like K-pop?" I asked. "I love it" he replied. We blasted kpop songs on the radio. Luis was ok with it but Triana was super annoyed with everybody. Once we've reached the mall, we all raced to it. Franzes won. We were all picking what to do first, Triana said "Let's get some boba". We all agreed. Franzes volunteered to pay for mine. He was so sweet. We went to clothing stores to go shopping after. Me and Triana bought so many things. Luis held Triana's bag and Franzes held mine. We went to the movies after. We watched something called "Avatar: The Way of Water" we loved it so much. After that, we went to Starbucks to eat. Me and Triana were sitting next to each other. Franzes was infront of me, Luis was infront of Triana. It was like a double date. "Hey, weren't you supposed to confess to Luis?" I whispered to Triana. "Oh right, I forgot" Triana replied. 10 seconds later, Triana said "Luis..". "Yes Tri?" Luis asked. "I have something to tell you" said Triana. "What is it?" asked Luis. "I like you" Triana said while stuttering. "What... I like you too" Luis replied. "Really?" Triana said. "Really." Luis replied. They hugged eachother. "Awww, so cute" Franzes said. "Okay yall, me and Luis are just gonna go someplace else in the mall, bye!" Triana said. "No don't leave us!" I mouthed. They left anyways. I tried to start a conversation with Franzes. "Hey, so you said you were gonna tutor me?" I asked. "yeah" he said. "So can I go to your house tommorow? So you can tutor me. It's Saturday " I said. "Yeah sure." He replied. After Starbucks, me, Franzes, Triana, and Luis met up at Triana's car. We all hopped in. Triana was gonna drop all of us at our houses which were all 30 minutes away from each other. She was so stressed, I loved it. The first one who got dropped off was Luis. Triana gave him a flying kiss. Then Franzes, then me. I told Niean everything that happened today. Then I got ready for bed. The next morning, I was getting ready to go to Franzes' house to study. Niean was gonna drive me there since it's on the same road as her boyfriend Gab's house. She dropped me off at Franzes' house. Franzes welcomed me warmly and led me to his room. He started teaching me the hard stuff. I was too busy staring at him. I didn't learn a thing that day. After tutor, his mom asked if I wanted to have lunch with his family. I said yes ofcorse. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. It was Sarah. Ugh not her again. Turns out Franzes are her are partners in a school project. He invited her to have lunch with his family too. Me and Sarah spent the entire lunch rolling our eyes and ignoring each other. Niean was outside to pick me up already. Franzes went outside with me and hugged me infront of Niean. Niean was smiling. I hopped into her car and she said "ooooooooooohhh" then we both laughed. 2 days later at school in 1st period, everybody was shipping me and Franzes. It's probably Sarah again but I'm not complaining this time. I was smiling inside but Franzes said "guys stop, we're just friends!" He has no clue that I like him at all. Weeks past and me and Franzes has gotten to be very close friends. I wanted to confess to her so I asked Triana and Niean for their advice. I texted Franzes if he wanted to meet up at Starbucks. It was my time to finally confess. Triana and Niean dropped me off at Starbucks and Franzes was waving at me. We went inside and ordered some food and drinks. We found a place to sit so we could chat a little. "I have something to tell you" we said at the exact same time. "You go first" I said. "Okay. I'm moving to New York City, because my girlfriend lives there. I miss her so much, I'm planning to surprise her!" Franzes said. I was speechless. I was so shocked. "Good for you" I said trying not to cry. "I'm sorry, I have to go." I said. I went running to Niean's car. Triana and Niean asked how it went and I started crying. I explained to them what happened and they hugged me. The next few days, me and Franzes started to spend much time with eachother while he's still here. But the day came. Niean drove me, Triana, Luis, and ofcorse Franzes to the airport. We all said goodbye to Franzes. I hugged him and cried. He went to check in and I bawled my eyes out. My school days were just so empty without him. I never got to tell him my feelings. Triana and Niean said I'll find someone better, but is there someone better?
