41| Queen Euphoria

There Rascal stands, turned to (y/n).

"She looks..." Glitter Spring begins, but can't find the rest of the words.

"Weak." Glitter Lucky finishes it off. "Something's off with them..."

"Yeah," Glitter Breeze adds, "like their whole personalities were about giving the world an unhappy ending, and now..."

"Now they look like they aren't into it," agrees Glitter Peace.

"She told me she was dying," chokes Glitter Sunny and the rest of the girls snap their heads in her direction. "It was sarcastic, but I'm starting to think it's true."

"Is that what the black veins are?" Whispers Glitter Lucky.

"Must be."

"I thought it was a cool transformation thing she did."

"Did you hear when Rascal said that Emperor Nogo was his father?"

"Yeah...but is it surprising?" Glitter Sunny responds to Glitter Spring.

"I mean..." Glitter Peace adds, "a little."

Then, to the Glitter Forces' surprise, they watch as the two become even more emotional.

"I don't like this!" Cries Glitter Sunny. "Even they look scared. If they are scared...how are we supposed to feel!?"

"Something's definitely wrong, look at (y/n)'s face." Glitter Breeze is right, and they all notice her clenched jaw and wide bloodshot teary eyes as she shakes her head wildly at the jester, who by the looks, is trying to calm her down by placing a hand on her shoulder.

"Do you think she's in pain?"

"Possibly, I've noticed her wincing a lot recently."

"Why is Rascal...helping her..in that way? What's with all the touching? What's he doing?"

"Don't forget she's on their side! What she's done to us!"

"Kelsey, this is war, even some of the creatures on Emperor Nogo's side probably aren't going to want to fight. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are forced to fight, to be in this war. You never know the full story."

That's when the girls spy the joker pulling (y/n) in for an affectionate hug...too affectionate.

"What the – "

But when they see Rascal pull away then lean in for a kiss, they feel embarrassed for spying and gasp.

"Ew."

"Kelsey!"

"But look," Glitter Lucky pushes, "the way they look at each other," the girl says, but trails off, "It's almost like..."

But Glitter Spring finishes it off.

"They're...in love."

_No one's POV_

The Miracle Jewel~ the one way ticket to saving (y/n). Nothing else is going through Rascal's mind. Emperor Nogo can throw whatever he wants at me, he thinks to himself, not after everything he's done to the poor jester, made him believe or...not believe. He doesn't care.

Rascal scouts the warzone. If the Jewel were somewhere, it would be with her bratty brother Pop. As the joker zooms, he watches with eagle eyes in search.

Until...he catches a gleam of pink in his eye. There it is and there he is, right there with Queen Euphoria herself. Drat. The jester curses. Why does he have to be right there~!?
