"I'd like that," she nodded with a small smile on her face. I offered my arm and she stood up to intertwine our arms, resting her hand on my forearm. "Sorry, you have to see me like this," I quickly shook my head.
"No, it's okay. No reason to apologize. It's understandable."
As we walked, we got to know each other and she was surprised at the fact that I don't even go here, I go to school in California. "I thought about transferring to MIT, but CalTech isn't too bad."
"What do you want to be?" she questioned.
"A developer of some kind. I like tech, I just haven't figured out what I want to do with my skills yet." We continued to chat and chow down on some food. Eventually, I told her that I'm best friends with Leighton's roommate, so I'll try to make sure the group doesn't get into this too much, knowing how complicated it would get.
"So, can I have your number?" I questioned. "I know I'm flying back in a few days and we literally just started talking, plus long distance is never ideal. So I don't mind if you just want to be frie—" she cut me off by pulling me down for a kiss, making me completely melt.
"A bit more than friends is okay too," she proposed while smiling against my lips.
"Cool," I replied and nodded, making her laugh and smack my chest. "Your kiss put me in a daze," I smiled. "Can I get another one?"
"Yes," she laughed and nodded again. With her hand on my nape, she pulled me down for a kiss again. "Shall we head back to my place to do some 'more than just friends' activities?"
"Yes please," I happily followed suit and felt her hold my hand again, gently pulling me along.
After months of talking from a distance until summer hit, we decided to meet up in New York, and everything continued to go well. I was a bit nervous about us since she's so damn pretty and I'm sure many people would want her. And I couldn't be the girl that's right beside her, to show her off.
She was there before me, so she waited for my arrival, I hope she didn't wait too long, I think her flight landed about an hour or two before me. Due to her family having a lot more money than I do. She offered to get us a ride and a lake house for a few weeks.
While I offered to pay for everything else because I'd feel bad for her paying for everything. One thing that was my biggest concern was the idea of bumping into her parents. We've only been talking for three months. We've been on two dates, while we were both back in Essex, and I'm afraid of it being too soon.
I grabbed my bags and went to find her. Once I saw her sitting with her phone in her hand, leg over the other, I grabbed my phone to text her, at least once I was only one row in front of her. "Hello beautiful," I texted, making her lift her head up.
"Casey!" She grinned and jumped up. We hugged over the seat and I lifted her into my arms. "I missed you, bubba," she greeted, making me pout.
"I missed you too, princess," I greeted back and kissed her cheek before she grabbed my face and pulled me in for a kiss. "Shall we get going?" I suggested. We grabbed our things and headed out of the airport. We were greeted by one of her family's personal drivers.
"Hi, Shawn," Tatum greeted the man. I shook his hand, got our things in the trunk, and got into the back. She and I got to catch up during the ride. "Okay, so–" she began, turning her whole body to face me. We held hands as she began to speak again.
"Uh huh?" I lifted an eyebrow.
"I know we've only been dating/talking for three months, but my family does want to meet you. You're very lovable and easy-going, so I'm sure you'd do just great. I'm sorry for not telling you sooner, but my parents just told me a few days ago that they were going to head out to the lake house and wanted to officially meet you. I completely understand if you want to change our plans, I even told my parents that it left you in a complex situation. Like I know how you like to plan things out and everything."
Before she could continue, I leaned over to give her a kiss on the lips. "Chill out," I chuckled. "You're good," I reassured her as I rubbed the top of her hand with my thumb. I then lifted her hand up to kiss it softly. "I know I had to meet them at one point...it's just the fact that we can't...you know..." I lifted an eyebrow.
"Yeah, I thought about that too, I was very annoyed, I still am actually," she told me, making me chuckle. "They'll only be there for two days max and then you're all mine, and I'm all yours."
"I like the sound of that," I firmly nodded.
To sum it all up, the next few weeks actually went by quite well. We then flew to L.A. and spent some more time together before we decided to spend some personal time with family and friends. But we agreed to see each other for the last two weeks of summer before school started again.
