Chapter Four - Birthday

Start from the beginning

"You made it." I laugh giving him a hug and then quickly pulling away

"I did, it was a little awaked getting through since I was a last minute edition. But your bodyguard helped me out." I glance back to James who gave a curt nod

"Well, come on then." I pulled him onto the dance floor and into the middle of dancing

"Can I have everyone's attention please! Hello!" Everyone quietened down as William had gotten a hold of the microphone with Harry standing next to him with a cheeky grin. "Yes the older brothers are here and as older brothers should we're here to embarrass the birthday girl" I covered my face as Kate laughed draping her arm over me.

"So our baby sis is finally sixteen! When Roe was born and we were brought to see her she was crying. My first words to her were "Your loud.'" Harry took over and we started laughing "Well she was. but then she calmed down and then we got to hold her and she nearly fell off my lap. From then on she's kept us on our toes." the mic went back to Will

"As older brothers there are a lot of unspoken rules and things we have to do, which much to her dismay is be incredibly embarrassing. As little sister she had the little sister rule book as well, but i think it was around two that she threw that rule book away. You maybe our little sister but you are wiser and older than any of us, it's not us who lead the way but you and we're in agreement that we're happy to follow. So I would like all of you to join us in our lead this time in wishing Roe a happy Birthday."

"Happy Birthday!" everyone cheered and I went over to my brothers hugging them both. We went back to partying and Liam was holding a bag

"Happy birthday." he handed it over and I opened it then laughed taking it out it was kids crown and wand.

"i love it thank you." I placed the tiara on my head "How do I look?"

"Amazing."

The next day I went out riding with James behind me, when I came back Granny was there waiting for me as I came to a trot and then a walk before coming to a stop. Dismounting I curtsy.

"Hello, darling.

"Granny." I kiss her cheek "To what do I owe the pleasure?" I breath running a hand through my long blonde hair. The grabbing the bucket of water and letting snowdrop drink

"Can't I come a ride with my granddaughter before she returns to school?" she questioned back and a horse was brought over

"Of course, you can. If I had know then I would have waited and had one brought out." She mounted her and spoke to James before I went back to snowdrop who had been brought over last week. We rode for around half an hour before returning back to the house and had lunch.

"Now normally I treat myself, once in a while when I'm at home. Like I said I didn't know you were coming so nothing was made. I hope you don't mind sharing finger food." I point to the KFC bucket of chicken fries

"Not at all" we sat down and i opened it up letting her have first crack. She took out what she wanted and i had my turn.

"How were your birthday celebrations last night?" she questioned as I took my first bite. I hummed finishing off before answering

"Brilliant. I had fun, of course the boys did their little speech, but it was tamer than last year. That was mortifying." I roll my eyes at the memory "I think Dad told them to regin it in this year and they did."

"That's good to hear." she agreed "You told your father and I that you want to study art history and international relations. I never asked how you came to that choice."

"Well you've seen the world we live in, so much art around us that each tells a different story, a place in time that has a yoyo effect of either wanting to remember or forget. I remember when I was little just staring up at them in awe, I'd make up these little stories about who they were and what they were thinking on that day. I have a lot of hobbies in and out of school art is a solace and a passion. International relations well because I know that despite little small easy engagements here and there it should come in handy when I become a official working member of 'the firm' as it is. Representing you." I smile

"You would be happy doing that?"

"Do you really have to ask? Anyway the firm is my duty one I'm happy to take on, my passion is to be an art curator possibly of the royal collection, the most breath taking one there is." I carry on eating wiping my hands and then having some cola.

"You seem very sure of your future."

"I kind of have to be." I laugh "I learned quickly that uncertainty is never a good thing for anyone. besides it makes my skin crawl not having a plan for things" I shiver slightly "I'm glad we've had this chat. It's not that often because someone else turns the conversation around. Usually Harry."

"Yes, I quite like it too."

The Queen returned home to Philip reading in their quarters. She set her bag down on the chair and removed her coat.

"Have fun with Aurora?" Phillip smirked at his wife

"I did actually, we had take out food and it was delicious." she went to sit with him as he chuckled "What?"

"Nothing" he denied and she sighed removing her gloves

"I know what your thinking, i figured it out. Aurora." She declared "Am I really that transparent?"

"To be fair not as you were with Andrew. Aurora is your subtle favourite, there is no way that she would push boundaries so blatantly and rudely as our son." Phillip commented

"I don't think I treat her any differently than her brothers and cousins." Elizabeth replied

"Like I said, it's subtle, you don't realise you do it. You will remember something she likes from the past like her Narnia books and as soon as the film came along you made no hesitation in making sure that she got the chance to be one of the first to see it. she starts playing music during the Christmas celebrations leading all the young ones up in dancing, you don't batter an eye lid. Any one else you'd give them a look." Phillip chuckled once more "It doesn't bother anyone mainly because it's not out right favouritism and you genuinely don't realise you do it."
