Sweets and Sadness

Part one

It was a bright and sunny morning on June 19th. Despite the shining sun on Dazai's face, he was still terribly gloomy. As he walked to work his feet dragged along the pavement, dreading his fate. He was aware that the Armed Detective Agency was obligated to celebrate every agency member's birthday, no matter the time nor year.

Dazai POV:
As I walk along the pavement I hear the stray pebbles, and un-cleaned debris under my shoes. Then, the dreaded time awaits. I see myself standing in front of the Armed Detective Agency's entrance. I decide on wether or not to get a coffee from the building below us to stall time, but I conclude against it. Before resting my slender hand on the doorknob I hear the sound of many Agency employees running around. I take a deep breath before hesitantly opening the door. The second I open it there's a loud burst of noise. My ears feel as if they are bleeding, because of how loud my other employees yelled the phrase "Happy Birthday!". I couldn't help but feel overstimulated, and overwhelmed by the sudden noise. That, and the fact that it's my birthday, the day I despise the most. "Awh, thanks guys, you shouldn't have! Even though I'm the best person ever!" Even though I fake my happiness every year, it's still difficult. This specific day is when everything that happened catches up to me. I managed to stutter out the words "Hey, I have to use the restroom...I'll be right back!" The second those words slipped out of my mouth I started bolting to the bathroom.

Ranpo POV:
Today I've noticed how different Dazai seems. He's been shaking, stuttering, he even has small tears in his eyes, and a very horrified expression. He seems to have some of these symptoms every year, but this year it seems more extreme for some reason. After thinking about this for some time, I realize that Dazai's still in the bathroom. I swiftly walk over to the bathroom. Once I arrive I hear light whimpers and cries in the stall next to the sink.
