07. SO WRONG, BUT SO RIGHT

Start from the beginning

"Cook" His hands cupped her cheeks, holding her head steady. "has been fucking Panda and Effy behind your back for weeks." He seethed in a breath. "Still want to stay with him?"

Victoria's breathing stuttered, shocking her by this reveal. Her lips frowned, searching Freddie's face for some sort of lie, but she saw nothing but truth. For some odd reason, she felt so betrayed by Cook — he hadn't even told her what he had been doing behind her back. All she looked like now was a girl who fucked her best friend's boyfriend, and now karma is getting it's revenge.

"Vic," He whispered, his eyes turning into a pleading expression. "I'm free, you're free, and I can't be the only one in this that's been waiting for this since that night in my shed."

Victoria's eyes fluttered to Freddie's lips, contemplating her decision. Her body unknowingly found itself itching closer and closer to Freddie's touch, before setting her lips back onto his. Her hands ran down to wrap around his elbows, holding them steady as their lips fit like a missing puzzle piece finding its way back.

If it was so wrong, why did it feel so right?

Victoria's arms wrapped around Freddie's neck, soaking in the moment of ease and calmness. There was no rush, no pushing or shoving, just a moment in time where two people were able to finally get the one thing they've wanted for months. It was like the aching irritation Freddie had felt in his bones had finally released, and been dried out with satisfaction and comfort. Something about Victoria warmed Freddie's heart in a way no other girl could. It was a feeling he had felt the moment he had laid his eyes on her, and never wanted it to be taken away.

"Come over tonight?" He whispers to her against her lips, slowly separating their touch. Victoria couldn't help but smile up at him, the feeling of a swarm of butterflies floundering throughout her stomach.

"Come over to mine. My parents are out of town for my sister's stupid pageant." She faintly laughed, her forehead coming to rest onto Freddie's. "I need to go talk to Cook." She whispers, brushing a strand of Freddie's hair out of his face. "I'll see you later, Freds." She plants a chaste kiss onto his cheek, before grabbing her things and fleeing away.

. . .

"HEY." Effy joined Victoria's side in walking along through the slim hallway of Roundview College.

"Hi, Ef." Vic faintly smiled, turning towards her — the two were on the same schedule, so they were bound to have a run in at some point during the day.

"I, uh, wanted to apologize to you. Freddie and I talked about... everything." Effy shamefully muttered. Victoria knew Effy wasn't keen on apologizing to people, as Victoria didn't enjoy it either. "It's his fault — not yours. I shouldn't be angry at you, just him. And I shouldn't have pushed you to that level yesterday. My fault, not yours."

"Ef," Vic grabbed onto Effy's hand. "I should be the one apologizing. I should've told you from the start. You're my best friend, Ef. I get it. That's why you hooked up with Cook, right?" Victoria's words revealed what she knew, them flying out so smoothly, it had irked Effy in an uncomfortable way. "I fucked your boyfriend, so you fucked mine?"

"Vic-"

"No, it's okay. Just" Victoria's hand runs down Effy's forearm. "Don't ever touch of them again, okay?" Victoria smiled, grabbing Effy's hand to lead him into their classroom. Effy stared at her a wide eye expression. In all honesty, Effy was semi-horrified of Victoria. She knew the extent Victoria had gone to to hurt people, and Effy didn't want to be any other one of her victims.

The two friends had settled themselves down in the noisy classroom, conversing over random topics they had thought of.

"Vic!" A voice shouted from behind her, startling the two. Victoria and Effy's heads whipped around to face the victim of the call, earning their attention. Naomi came racing towards the two, resting her palms onto the table. "I need you to talk your boyfriend out of running for president."

"Of the country?" Victoria joked, smirking cheekily, while chewing on the tip of her pen.

Naomi rolled her eyes, scoffing. Effy stifled a laugh beside Vic, giggling into her hand. "No, the student body. He's only doing it to get into my pants. Which, by the way, I shut down." Naomi clarified, watching Victoria's head nod slowly.

"Mhm." Victoria hummed. "Yeah, well, I'll talk to him." Victoria leaned back into her chair, rolling her neck. "Can I do anything to help you win?"

"Ruin him." Naomi leaned down to Victoria's eye level, whispering. "You're the most popular girl in school, Vic."

    "Am I?"

"Yes — I need you to make sure he doesn't win, otherwise, everything will go to hell and I'll be forced to watch him throw it in my face the rest year."

"Okay, then. I'll talk to him tomorrow. I got somethin' I have to do tonight. And knowing him, he's probably off to fuck a random girl he finds on the street. He's classy that way." Victoria snarls, setting down the pen she anxiously bit on. Naomi grinned thankfully at Vic, nodding her head before taking a seat beside Pandora.

"What are you doing tonight?" Effy turns to Vic, her filled eyebrows furrowed.

"Studying — my parents are out for Ro's pageant in London so I'm stuck home alone catching up on every single thing I'm failing in." Vic faintly smiles, running a hand through her hair.

"Jesus, good luck." Effy mutters as the bell rings, announcing it was time for the students departure. "I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, bye, Ef."

"Bye, Viccy." The two do their signature friendship handshake Victoria and her had created year 7, smiling as they do so. "Catch you later, Graham Cracker."

"Peace out, Stoman."
