Abifoluwa.

"Jesus. Jesus. Jeeeeeeeeesussss!!!" Temi yelled from where she sat upright on her bed,

She is a dark girl with cropped black hair, which she liked to share into two puffs. This girl cannot stay at the salon for thirty minutes, yet she never wanted to cut her hair.

"We all like Amebo but abeg tone it down, let's hear word." Morayo hissed, feeling as frustrated as everyone in the room, excluding two particular people,

Temi glared at her before returning to her conversation, "She got pregnant oh!!" Jessie clapped her hands,

"Oh my...oh my gadddd!!" Temi gave an exaggerated shout,

You see, the thing about Temi is that she had exaggerated reactions to everything. It was funny sometimes, but sometimes...it was not. Like right now.

"Temi. Please and please, shut up! Bisola just went to call her brother now, and I don't want him to know that I have animals for friends..." Aminat said calmly, "Some of them Sha..." She added after glancing at me,

"Abegii! Paul that you have been crushing on since Jss2? He cannot like you, forget about it and move on sister." All of us laughed at this,

"Who likes me?" Paul said from the tablet in my hands,

Aminat, in fact had been crushing on my cousin since her early secondary school days. The big head knows, and he's always feeling himself.

"Nobody, ode. Who would crush on your big head? And don't get me started on the nose."

Paul gave a snort. "You guys are breaking the school rules." He plainly stated,

That was his thing, saying the obvious like other people are dumb.

"Thank you, captain obvious." I replied,

"You're not supposed to have personal technology inside the hostel."

"Ughhh." I groaned, "you keep stating the obvious...why are you around again? Don't you have school?" I asked, knowing fully well that his uni had gone on a break,

He raised one of his brows, "Brother Paul." Aminat piped in,

I shared a gaze with Morayo, "Ma'am." He responded,

"I like your shirt." She said softly, this was one of the problems...

Aminat and soft?  Remove them from one sentence abeg. This girl is a tout.

"This old thing?" Paul gave a little laugh,

"I think I'm going to barf." I said out loud, dropping the tablet on the bed and jumping off,

"Abi!!! Guess who is pregnant?" Jessie  - Temi's gist partner - asked excitedly, this stuff was pretty normal, someone gets pregnant every holiday.

"Um...I don't know?" I mumbled, opening up a wrap of bubble gum,

Ew. Toffee flavoured.

"Deborah Anyanwu!!" She said it with a dramatic effect,

I honestly do not understand why Jessie is a science student, her theatrics were top notch if you asked me. She knew every gossip and latest gist, nothing... nothing oh, ever gets past Jessie. She was a walking, breathing CCTV camera.

"Future school president?" I snickered,

"Yes!" She and Temi laughed,

"At least now Morayo would be able to run." We all looked at Morayo,

"For where? Over my dead body." She shook her head,

Morayo's mother had warned her against getting involved in school politics, as, according to her, nothing good ever comes out from the candidates.

"What of you, Abi?" Temi asked,

"No abeg. Too much stress." I let the conversation die down.

That was not the case, really. My dad didn't believe in politics and thought of it as an abomination when the younger generation involved themselves in the "dirty act" as he liked to phrase it. He believed that God was the only ruler we needed.

"Bye-bye, greet sister Bisola for me." Aminat giggled,

"Alright snowball." Paul responded.

And guys... that's how my gum came through my nose. Okay, just kidding but I'm pretty sure that should've been what had happened.

But instead, we stare at Aminat like she had grown another head and the blank screen in her hands.

"You that you're black like charcoal." Morayo hissed, breaking the silence, if this girl wasn't a snake in her former life...

"Snowball? One did that one start?" Jessie was the next to speak,

"Don't trust these university boys, they have hundred girlfriends." Temi said,

And finally...

"I really don't care." I rolled my eyes, "just don't... flirt in front of me again. Ever."

"Okay, his puppy came to the camera and he introduced her, her name is snowflake... and she has black fur, so I was like...shey my name should be snowball? And he started calling me that. Also, he said we should find sometime to hang out." She said all these in one breath,

There were...mixed reactions.

"Ew." From me, he's my cousin, and he's senseless... God abeg.

"God when?" From Jessie and Temi,

"Una dey craze." From Morayo.

We heard the bell ring from the main auditorium, seriously! It was our first day of moving in and they were already calling assembly.

We all groaned collectively,

"Principal Meshach has a problem, I swear." Temi said,

"Hello oh? It's a new term.. try not to die." I said as we marched outside, laughing like life had many duplicates.
