AISLING BURKE's mere existence posed many problems for her fellow pupils at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Whilst most teenagers and budding young adults spent their school years doing everything they could to be liked by their peers, Aisling was a rare bird in that it almost seemed she done everything to not be liked.

Or perhaps it just came that easily to her.

With a sour attitude and a fierce gaze, the Ravenclaw had earned herself the nickname 'the Shrew', and seemed content enough to continue to live up to her name.

ERIN BURKE was a ray of sunshine amidst the cloudy storm of her elder sister. She was sweet, whereas Aisling was standoffish. She was flirty and feminine, whereas Aisling proclaimed no man would ever tickle her fancy. Despite these differences, it didn't stop the two from having a rather close relationship.

Amos Diggory took issue with Aisling Burke, for he absolutely adored Erin. The problem Aisling posed for this affair was the widely known fact that the younger Burke sister was not allowed to date until the eldest had. A rather carefully thought out idea churned out by their father once he realised there was little hope of Aisling dating any time soon.

But Amos had a plan, one that would need someone brave, charming and not at all intimidated by Hogwarts infamous Shrew. James Potter, he discovered, was the perfect man for his plans.

hello and hi!!! I am posting yes, ANOTHER, book. i've been bitten by the james potter bug and I absolutely have to get this idea out of my head and into writing, I only hope it's something everyone will enjoy!

as mentioned in the story description this IS inspired by 10 things I hate about you (which was inspired by the taming of the shrew). it's just a fun take on the premise of the story and won't be identical to it. i'll also warn you all in advance that I love these characters but they definitely have some character growth to go through, if that's not your cup of tea!

this is also a bit AU, there won't be mentions of Voldemort or the war because I honestly just want to make a lighthearted Marauders era romcom

for anyone that's not familiar with popular Irish names aisling is pronounced "ash-ling" and sean is pronounced like "shawn". any usages of 'Ais' as a nickname are pronounced 'Ash'.
