In search for the lost demon king

[This song is so peaceful. In my opinion it's best when listened on a spring evening, when the sun sets and you can just peacefully look out of the window.]

Day was beautiful, the sun shone brightly. My room was illuminated with different colors that came from my window, making everything look like the rainbow had kissed them.

I looked down at the busy humans from my room's mirror with shining eyes and sighed, both in wonder and melancholy. It has been so long since I could go down there and so much had changed over the last 400 years. I would love to go, but it was permitted.

Knock knock knock

I turned my attention to the big white door, "Come in please!"
My sister, Abigail, the angel of order, walked in. Her face was full of light and care towards me, "Sister, dear sister.. We were given an order to go and search for the new lost demon king. We can finally get out and explore!"

The room was now filled with the smell of chocolate as she leaned to the doorframe, seemingly dreaming about all the things we are going to do.

I raised my eyebrows, "New one? Has Forneus's son finally eaten him?"
Abigail nodded and came to stand in front of me, "Yes, and his son has somehow escaped hell in doing so. Perhaps he wanted to escape from his duties? Or does he rather have the will to meddle with the human world? That we shall know once we catch him."

Even when the topic was serious I couldn't help but feel exited to finally leave home. A mission meant that we had grown strong enough to leave. We've become the strongest rank without even realizing it.

I jumped into her hands, "Oh I'm so excited! I cannot wait until I could speak with humans, so much has changed, sister! And I am so gonna catch that demon first!" I 'boop-ed' her nose before making my way to the door.

Yeah so the thing is that I am the angel who represents honesty. I cannot lie even if I wanted to and I often tend to say things before thinking. Every other tells me the truth when they are around me, especially humans. That's the effect I have on others.
Abigail adores me for that, order and honesty often walk hand in hand.

My brother, dear Ethan, the angel of serenity, walked in before I could even open the door, "Well sisters, our Isaac is growing inpatient. We have to go."

I nodded, grabbed both Abigail's and Ethan's hands and ran out of the door. I too wanted to get out of here as soon as possible.
I skipped and jumped as I ran and Ethan laughed at my silly antics.

"Isaac! We are here!" I managed to huff out while still running and waved both of my hands to him while still holding onto my siblings' hands.

Outside was light and some crystals on rocks and trees made the place look ethereal, a paradise as humans called it. The grass was soft and the sun was smiling for us. It was about to set soon enough.

He nodded and jumped into the bond without saying a word to us, the portal connecting the three worlds.
Once we got there we stopped. "Let's go, shall we?" Ethan looked at us as his eyes glimmered with mischief.
I didn't even have time to ask before he dragged us with him as he jumped in.

We were falling down the clouds.

"Ethan can't you really make us feel any less stressed than this!" Abigail scolded.
"How is that even possible for an angel of serenity to make us stressed?" I quietly murmured to myself in confusion before opening my wings and flying down into a hidden place where I felt Isaac's presence.

"Even falling takes you long time." Isaac told me once I landed, hands crossed.
"The others are slower." I quickly defended myself while looking up with big eyes and pointing at where they were flying.

Once they landed their wings disappeared and their halos turned transparent, an effect human world has on us.

"Now that we are all here I want to inform you that we are going to be attending All Honor High, a place made specifically for the blessers to develop their abilities to the point they could protect humanity." Abigail informed us as we carefully listened to every word she said.

A blesser is an human who has powers gifted from angels. The gift is called a blessing and a blesser is the one who wields it. They usually turn out to become exorcists, but there are a few who use their powers for their own good.

Isaac nodded and continued, "Demon activity has increased due to demons who are searching for their king, Charon. There is a possibility that he has been hidden in this school, unaware that he even is the new ruler of hell. Keep an eye out for anyone unusual."

"U-huh got it, let's split up and inspect this place." Ethan proposed.
We all decided that splitting up would be the best idea and we all parted at once.

I decided to go to the school's garden. I like gardens, they are usually pretty peaceful.
The sun was starting to set and I enjoyed the silence.

A faint wind made the leaves rustle and I noticed a cat who was sneaking around in a bush. Neither to say I immediately went to pet it. It enjoyed my presence and purred with delight.

I heard a strange set of footsteps approaching me, but I didn't feel any malicious intent from the person so I relaxed.
"I haven't seen you here. Are you a new student perhaps? You're wearing the school's uniform."
I looked behind me and saw a red-headed, gorgeous man.
He had a birthmark on his cheek, right under his eye his eyes were bright brown, almost golden and his ears were too pointy for a human, but not enough to be a demon. His skin was clear, but I saw two slight eyebags that rested just below his eyes. His lips were rosey, almost the same color as his cheeks, but his red hair hid the redness on his face well.

He also was studying my face, carefully.
He realized that I hadn't answered his question and cleared his throat, "Actually, you look familiar. I'm curious, what's your name?" He asked.

I turned my attention back to the cat, "[name], does it ring the bell?" I asked him.
"No." He shook his head.
I nodded, "You now know my name, you owe me yours."
"People call me Belial." He said as he kneeled beside me to also pet the cat.
"Belial?" I asked as I felt the cat wriggle free  from my grasp. He walked away and I waved to it.
"Farewell." I told him.

The cat looked back before continuing his journey. Belial still had his hand extended for the cat and looked a bit down because the cat didn't like him.
He looked like he was in his own thoughts before standing up.

"Yes, it's very nice to meet you." He nodded and smiled, lightly. It was a nice sight to see.
Belial, 'worthless' was what it meant. People called this man worthless.
"In my eyes you are worth a lot." I said my thoughts out loud.

I looked around and noticed that it had gotten quite dark. Some stars were starting to appear and the wind had gotten a bit stronger.

His eyes widened, "How so?"
I smiled, "Your soul is fierce and strong, you have a kind heart. Perhaps you are misunderstood?"

He smiled back, a bit flustered at my compliments. Normal human wouldn't notice, but I saw the slight change in his stance. He had let his guard down and I felt glad that I could help his anxiety even if it's only a bit.
He looked at the sky, "Who knows?"

I also stood up, deciding that this man could actually be helpful for my journey. I looked at the beautiful night sky, then back to his shiny oak tree like eyes that reflected the beauty of nature itself, "Do you happen know the way to class B2?"

I felt like I could trust him. Angels usually have a good sense of who they can trust, there's even an angel of intuition, their name is Somar. A great pal who I hope to reunite with soon enough.

He looked back at me and nodded, "I happen to be a student in class B2."

Yes, this was fate. We surely were supposed to meet on that exact day.

I clasped his hands in mine in enthusiasm, "Good! Could you lead the way?"

August's secret for today🫢✨:
Belial adores cats, but cats can sense his demonic aura so they tend to avoid him. He always questions his existence after being rejected by one.
