Year-End Special Chapter: Debugging the Remnants of Revelation

"How can I be sure that you're not a part of the Resistance??"

The what? My mind's puzzled about what's going on.

"Keith, what the fuck is this "Resistance" thing? We should've gone for a briefing before I hopped on this place."

Oh, right. Keith's the type of Coder when pressured enough could forget a lot of procedures due to his anxiousness. Damn, we should switch workplace if that's the case.

"Uh-huh? Playing dumb? That's what a Resistance member would say, peko!"

She charged toward us and prepared to take us down with a swing of her sword but fortunately, my hands were fast enough to highlight her and input a standby command.

"Wha- what the hell?! I can't move!!"

Inside her frozen state, she tried to squirm just to escape my restraining command but just like every other foolish code, she failed and glared at us.

"Whoever the Resistance sent to kill me, I will never falter. Even if I die here, we will never surrender against you terrorists!"

I only stepped forward and defended ourselves from her accusations.

"Woah, woah, woah. Sorry to break it to you, but I am not here to kill you, heck I didn't even know what this Resistance is."

"Huh? Why are you here? How should I believe you, peko?" 

Her face visibly rattled from my alibi made me let out a sigh before taking a glance at Keith, who's still silent and taking his time reflecting on his decision making.

"Hey Keith."

He recoiled after hearing her name being called but I didn't let him respond as I continued.

"Can you ask Alternis for System Record's access?"

His distressed face changed into a proudful one and tapped on a black screen, wherein the next thing that appeared on his screen shocked me.

"Foolishness, Seijuro, foolishness."

Unlike other Coders, Avasts can access General and Server Scan without the Administrator's permissions. But despite all of that, we still need to request access to System Records from the Admin of the server.

That's a different case for Keith and Alternis' Server. In front of me was a screen showing his permission to grant other Coders access to System Records.

"Lucky to be a pseudo-Administrator, eh? Wanna switch with me?"

"Fuck off."

As I typed the ID of the rabbit girl, all of her information appeared in the System Records.

"Usada Pekora. Leader of the Pekolandish Militia Forces- Ooooh."

According to the System Records, she's one of the important people for the "war" occurring in this world. But she's too gullible to take a losing fight, even trying to go 1v2 against us, literal gods. 

Despite all of that, I liked her recklessness. Reminds me of Cyan Neko during our time at the Academy.

Taking a glance at the rabbit girl, who was still frozen mid-air, I closed the distance between us with an idea in my mind going to be presented to her.

"Usada-san. What if I told you that Reality works similar to a computer program?"

"Oh c'mon, Seijuro. Are we doing this again?"

"Why not? Pulling random people into our jobs is fun. Besides, who would believe her if she told others about us?"

"W-what do you mean computer program? I'm confused..."
