"What can even cause that?" Issei didn't know. He was only sure that whatever can disturb or block things moving between dimensions must be immensely powerful.
"Something that is able to block, scramble or disturb dimensional movement." Explained the man simply. "Even I am not sure. The sensor and log data got corrupted."
"Hmm, I see... so, you used this device and got away from your pursuer?"
"Yes, as I told you. Further details are quite blurry. I only know I was grievously injured. There was no way I would have survived without care."
"Then how...?"
"When I regained consciousness, I was in bed, taken care of by a man named Rorschach. As it came to light, he and his sister found me inside their shop — taking care of my wounds. That's all I remember." And, of course, the girl mentioned she fought head-on with his pursuer.
If it was true or not, even he can't tell. Yet, considering they somehow healed decades-old scars and restored his health completely, he tends to believe it was that way.
"Her again...!" Rias muttered under her breath, squinting her eyes slightly.
"I see you and they have a history, Princess Gremory." That was obvious from the look she displayed.
"Let's just say, since they came into the town; strange things have been happening."
"Interesting." The man rubbed his chin, thinking. "What things exactly?"
"Amongst other things, increased stray devil and fallen activity..." Explained Sona, glancing at Rias. "Nothing that can directly be linked to them."
"It is still strange these things started roughly the same time as their arrival." Commented Rias. "That's all..." There was too much coincidence. Rias just felt something was not right with those two!
"Well... Gillian's brother is quite normal — aside from being too handsome." Issei still cursed all handsome playboys who seduced the girls just by being around. For him, being handsome equaled being suspicious — especially since he knows Kiba.
"I mean... he is nice. He even helped me train and gave me advice on girls. Still, he is just too handsome."
"But the girl?" The Princess of Ruin shook her head as she crossed her legs. "She beat up Fallen easily. Subjugated Riser Phenex and his peerage basically alone." Not to mention she can easily handle exorcist weapons.
The topping on this "cake" was her connections; those who provided her with so many firearms and explosives it would have been enough for a small army. "And not to mention all the other things going around them." All too suspicious in her eyes!
"I see..." Hummed the man thinking. "Interesting..."
"A troublesome girl indeed."
"I might wonder if you two tried to recruit them to your Peerage." The man joked halfheartedly.
Considering the reports detailing the current devil generation customs, that two might be a prime candidate for reincarnation — more so, if he considers them as possible Sacred Gear carriers or members of a rare bloodline with unique abilities.
"According to a few surveys, since the creation of the Piece system, most high ranked devils try to recruit people of quality — converting them to devils." Before that, they would've rather made deals with people or simply enslaved and used them to their own end. But now?
"How oddly times have changed..."
"Tried but failed." Sona adjusted her glasses, barely able to hide her embarrassment — remembering how her "new fiancé" beat her in her own game with relative ease.
