"No, you don't." Kokaibel grinned triumphantly. "Now then, you either come with us on your two legs, or I will chop your limbs down and drag you away. Either way, you are coming with us."
"Ah! Finally, your true self is revealed! So refreshing!" Gillian shook her head with a relieved sight. "In that case, can I have another proposition? ~"
"No..." The man's tone was resolute, leaving no room for defiance. He really had enough of the antics of this girl.
"What a shame! Nonetheless, it is my duty to warn you still — before you do anything you might regret. There is a chip in my head." Gillian pointed at her head.
"A chip? What chip?" The man scoffed in disbelief.
"Ah! So you don't know what a chip is? Then, I'll tell you. It is a clever little..."
"I KNOW WHAT A CHIP IS!" Shouted the man in fury.
"Oh! Right! Please, forgive me. Then let me tell you in short what this little buddy does in my head." Once more, Gillian raised her index near her sphenoid. "You know, Chip-chan collects info from my nerves, monitoring my vital signs and continuously storing them. If something happens with me, the right people will be notified and sent a copy from whatever my "sensors" recorded — effective immediately." She bluffed. "In no time, the Maou, even your boss, Azazel..."
"He is not my boss!" Kokabiel roared, disgusted.
"Then... your companion? Lover? Or whatever, I don't care. The thing is... I wonder if you can finish your "evil" plan before they arrive."
"Grr...!"
"Strike me down, hurt or force me in any way, and they will be here to investigate what happened sooner than you expect. Tamper with it, and the dead man's switch will activate!~" She explained, barely able to hold her laugh. Even she was impressed by herself managing to come up with such nonsense on the fly.
"Once that happens, the big fishes will start to chase after your tiny rod... ~ " Circling her index playfully, she pointed to the man's loins. "... like sharks sniffing fresh blood in the water."
Kokabiel visibly hesitated, unable to decide if what she said was true or she was just playing around — as she did until now.
As a practiced liar, he usually recognizes lies, but now, he just can't decide if she told the truth or wanted to deceive him. No! Since they started to converse, something compelled him to believe whatever she said was true!
As for Gillian?
"Man! He is really bad at this manipulation thing. At least try to be convincing!" And all these physical threats? They are just so inelegant! "His evil is amateur at best."
Gillian almost snorted.
"Not speaking, he just revealed his real name right away? Who does that if they want to keep it low until the time has come?"
This guy started to turn from a funny amateur to someone who offended Gillian's schemer side immensely.
Back in the game, and even in the orphanage — she was raised in — she spent untold amounts of time pondering on tactics to overcome opponents she couldn't handle or come up with a plan to send a few bullies to workcamps.
"How annoying guy..."
If he wanted a grand scheme, at least carefully choose his steps and act when needed. Not just barge in her shop and demand things without collecting any information about his possible opponent — or if this person really has the item he needed.
"Az-kun warned me this guy is around and up to something. But seeing him being so... raw. I might imagine it is nothing too interesting or creative."
