The only thing that separated him to hand him this defeat was the question of resources.

"It is clear he is richer than me."

Kokaibel was no fool. He had immense resources at his disposal. Riches many can only dream of. Still, he was no fool to think he could outbid the Maou or even Azazel himself — the man who with all certainty would spend his immense wealth to get a fragment for himself just to mess with him!

"That damn fool would even spend all the Fallen capital just to outbid me!" Most likely even taking ridiculous loans from other factions just to tick him out — ruining their whole race financially in the long run.

"No! I can't fall for her scheme! She is just bluffing! There is no way she knows Azazel and the rest! She just wants to win time!" Something was not right! Why did he have a strange feeling? Did she tell the truth? What was this itching feeling in his brain that said something was not right?

"So? What do you say? Want to play?"

"You are bluffing! There is no way you know Azazel and the rest!"

"Hmm... I know many people. Don't underestimate a book by its cover. Want me to prove it? I can call them here and now." She recovered her phone — a phone with a familiar design. "Or have you just chickened out?"

"!" That enmity-filled look was the only thing Gillian needed to confirm her suspicion.

"Ah! I see you are not as rich as you said. How sad! It doesn't matter. I'll just sell that fancy stuff to someone else. I am sure..."

"I HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR CHARADE! How dare a simple human ridicule me!?" That's it! Now he lost it! "HOW DARE YOU USE MY OWN WORDS AGAINST ME!?" A sword of light appeared in Kokabiel's hand once more, his powers flaring, destroying the counter and the ground underneath him. Even Mertinia had to jump back from the sudden power surge.

"Kokabiel! Calm down, or we...!" Her mentor completely lost it! Just what the hell is happening!?

"My patience is running thin, human! Choose your next words wisely! I can be a great ally, but also your greatest nightmare! Hand over the sword, now, or death will be a relief!"

Seeing this display, Gillian can't help but sigh, annoyed.

"Ah! This again? Why must people wreck my shop all the time? Really? Is it a hobby for you people? But really, if you don't pay for the damage, I will mug you as I did with that girl!" Gillian shook her fist not so menacingly.

People coming here and breaking her stuff was all right at first, as she can fix such everyday items easily. But since Azazel and the rest appeared, she had to do it more and more often. It started to get really boring and bothersome.

"Kokabiel! Stop! Please, they will recognize us!" Now, basically, the whole shop boiled with the immense pressure the man released.

Neither Kokabiel nor Mertinia was aware, but if not Gillian activating a few masking barriers to hide their immense presence, the devils would be here already to investigate the disturbance.

"That's it! You played your chance! How dare you speak with me like this!? I am the great Kokabiel! Legions of demons and ang...!"

"Stop..." Gillian shut him up by placing her index on his mouth, rolling her eyes left and right.

"!"

Kokabiel was caught off guard completely. He didn't even see her move.

"The girl is right, you know? You don't want to wake up the residents. Being too "noisy" might draw the devils here. And once that happens! Well, I wonder what they would say seeing a Fallen leader here. It might even draw here not one, but two Maous. Your boss, Azazel? Fufu! I wonder what he would think seeing you scheming around to get that sword."
