Rating Games not only decided the rank of devils in their society, but it was also a sport people can bet on.
Obviously, most people expected Riser to win, betting on his team with a great deal of money. In contrast to this, he lost pretty badly due to his opponents' "unconventional" methods — mostly thanks to that "masked figure."
This, of course, upset many people of great renown and power, causing them great loss.
"Don't even mention it." Sipping her champagne, the Red Princess really hoped things wouldn't escalate further, and people would forget their grievances — once the dust settled.
"Albeit, most devils are still too stubborn and proud to accept a loss."
Maybe it is their nature to be so. Still, it was often more problematic than was worth it. Their history was enough proof of how much they lost because of their pride and stubbornness.
"As expected, Riser didn't come."
"Hah! What a loser!"
Several devils discussed this topic near them.
"Are you surprised? That guy was really scary! Hell! I would be scared as well if someone wanted to bury me alive!"
"Yeah! That figure was really menacing."
Rias almost scoffed hearing this. After what Gillian had done with Riser, he was right to be scared. In truth, even she was slightly afraid of seeing the harsh treatment the girl subjected poor "immortal" to.
"Yeah, he tore apart the whole peerage almost by himself... alone!"
"Wonder who he is..."
"Oi! Rias, where was that armored guy?"
The group who chatted about this spotted and approached her. Great, just what she needs. More so, this party seems to have been led by a young devil disliked by many and famous for his teasing attitude.
"He dislikes parties. He's not here." Rias wanted to end their conversation with only this, but the person who approached her had another idea.
"Hah! Just as expected! He doesn't even dare to face us! What a coward! Whether he is here or not, it is the task of his King to compensate us, Gremory. Because of that prick, I lost a great deal. I demand compensation and satisfaction!" The fat figure stomped on the ground hard, cracking the stone flooring.
"We owe you nothing, Dominus. Next time consider your bets better. Now, if you'll excuse us..." Rias wanted to walk away when her arm was grabbed forcefully.
"Hah, the lower cast family try to hiss us away? How daring. But I am a merciful Lord. Maybe if you offer one of your servants... That blonde girl looks quite ripe. Little Koneko? Indeed, she is quite cute. Or the mature Akeno? Or all three? Oh! But if you want to spare them, I can accept your sacrifice too. So, what's your choice, Gremory?"
This devil was around Rias' age. He was fat and stocky, with blue skin and a freckled face. His hair was messy, spiky, and pink, wearing what looked like a suit that was a few sizes too small for him, stretching on his belly.
With the two black, flaming goat horns protruded under his hair, his sharp teeth, and those unnerving yellowish-green eyes with slit pupils and black sclera, he really looked devilish.
Everyone else would say this appearance befit a demon, yet despite his general look, he was handsome, radiating a certain charisma that made him irresistible to many and earned him a hefty amount of followers — mostly from the ladies' side.
"That will never happen...!" Rias forcefully tore her arm away.
"Hmm, in that case? I challenge you to get my satisfaction." The fat devil removed his white gloves, doing so methodically and elegantly, throwing before Rias' high heels.
