Chapter 11: How to Hunt down an Immortal

Despite her playful demeanor, she was in bad shape. Fighting an intense dog fight in the air with Riser and his Queen really took a toll on her.

But it was not only Akeno who looked worse to wear. All of them barely held themselves!

Asia bound by a spell and unable to help them only made it worse, even Issei barely standing on his leg thanks to the continuous attacks he had to dodge. They were indeed in a tight situation.

"Issei, are you ready?"

"A few more seconds!" Barely, but Issei rolled away from a fireblast Riser lazily sent after him. His body was drenched, bruised, and beaten. It will be most likely his last attack.

"Kiba! Gillian! Where are you? We are cornered here!" She clearly heard the two Rooks, and the last remaining Knight was eliminated from the match. Yet, against another immortal bird, they have little to no chance. She worried they would not make it.

[Explosion!] Came to the voice from the boy's Sacred Gear. "Dragon Shoot!" Issei shot two charged red beams against Riser. The attacks grazed him but only managed to destroy one of his legs and arm — A loss the Devil most likely barely felt.

"Truly pitiful..."

"Guah!" The fireball that Riser sent after the barely standing boy sent him flying in the air, throwing him away.

"Ise!" Rias shouted in fright, seeing her beloved servant crash to the ground, not even moving but groaning in pain.

'Bang!'

"Gyiahhh!" [Rias Gremory-sama's Queen retreated from the game.]

In the next moment, Akeno was caught in a blast, knocking her down from the sky.

Her opponent breathed haphazardly. It was evident she as well barely held herself. Covered in burns from Akeno's electrical attacks, it was no surprise.

"I got you... you truly fit the title, Priestess of Thunder..." The difference between the two sides was minimal, only thanks to Yubelluna's perfectly timed use of Phoenix Tear made her come out as the victor.

"Please, Rias, stop this. This is starting to turn truly disgraceful. You fought well. I admit that. I even commend you. You even managed to eliminate most of my pieces with that move. That's why I'll give you a chance: give up while you can. Let's not prolong this meaningless battle any longer. It only brings disgrace to you and your family. What would your brother say? You are truly selfish..."

"Yo-You! Shut up!" Rias released a wave of destructive black energy, destroying Riser's face. Yet, just as fast as his face disintegrated, it came back in a peerless state.

"Hah! How annoying. Very well then. Then maybe scarring your precious Pawn will change your mind. It seems my dear future wife needs some reeducation..."

Rias's eyes widened suddenly, turning to Issei's direction.

"Buchou..." Issei tried to get up, yet, he completely failed. His stamina all but ran out. His body is in a beaten-up state. He can't run away.

"Blast him away..." Riser gave the command to Yubelluna, dismissing, shrugging as he waved towards Issei.

"With pleasure."

What to do?

Kiba and Gillian not answering — Probably in a similar state fighting with that other immortal.

Issei out, Asia bound! Her attacks are ineffective! She has no chance but... forfeit!

"Fi-Fine... I will..." Yet, before those decisive words could leave her mouth, something unexpected happened.
