Now I have been out with plenty of girls, right. But for some reason, this thing I had for tonight was making me feel so fucking excited.

I was actually a bit too excited that it made the day seem so slow, but by the 8pm mark, I got ready and told Casey I was gonna pick her up.

"Damn daddy, you look fine as fuck. Where we goin?" Reid asked as soon as he saw me walk down the stairs.

"I got a date" I simply tell him while I take my phone out and tell Casey that I was on my way out

"Must be nice" Kurt added as he popped up beside Reid, and I just shook my head.

"You're an idiot" I tell him before turning my heel and walking out of there.

Since Casey's apartment was just a couple of blocks away from the frat house, I was there in five minutes tops.

Didn't even have to text her that I was there because she was already outside the apartment building waiting for me, and as soon as she spotted me, she flashed me smile and started walking towards me so we could meet halfway.

She was wearing some black t-shirt dress with buttons running from the neckline down, completely hugging her figure very well, and some air force ones. Nothing too flashy, but goddamn did she look fine!

"So, where we going?" she asks as she looks up at me as soon as we were both standing in front of each other.

"I hope you'd be fine with me cooking up something for you" I tell her as I offer my arm so she could link hers. As soon as the last word left my mouth, however, she then looked up at me with her eyebrows scrunched up.

"You're gonna... cook for me?" she asked "At your frat house?"

Right, I forgot.

"No" I tell her as I let out a laugh, completely forgetting about that one minor detail that was relevant to this date "I have an apartment a just a couple of blocks from here"

"Oh, okay" Casey says as she smiles at me and we start walking and talk about whatever until we reach my apartment, completely lost in some random conversation that had us both laughing our ass off as I unlock my apartment.

As soon as we were inside and I had turned the lights on, she starts wandering around.

"Nice place" she tells me as she does a 360 of the place. Nothing big, really, since I spend most of my time at the frat house. I just desperately need peace and quiet, especially during exams, so having an apartment was the better option.

What, I still want a normal college life? This cancer isn't gonna stop me from having that.

"Okay, why do you have an apartment when you already live in a frat house?" Casey asks me while I start preparing the ingredients for our dinner. Nothing too fancy, just some steak.

"I don't live in the frat house" I corrected, which only made her look at me like she had a lot of questions she wanted to ask "It's a long story" I tell her as I put the thyme, garlic, and butter into the skillet. And from the side of my eye, I see Casey start walking towards me then leans forward on the other side of the kitchen counter so she could look at what I was doing.

"I got time" she says. And as soon as I turn to look at her, she flashes me one of the sweetest smiles I've ever seen with her eyes staring straight right at me.

Do I tell her about it?

As much as I wanted to, I didn't really like telling people about that part of my life. Apart from my family and my friends, I've never really told anyone about the fact that I had probably a couple of years left to live.
