"Unfortunately, your brother is gonna be there, too" Hailey said as she sighed. Ahh yes.

Quick background, for some weird reason, Hailey and Caleb hates each other. I don't know what went wrong, to be honest. They used to be so close, but come high school, everything changed.

I hope something good happens though, because I still want Hailey to be my sister in law in the near future.

"Yeah. And he's gonna be cockblocking the shit out of me for sure" I said, making Hailey laugh.

"I mean I hate the guy and all, but I'm sure he just wanna make sure you're... you know..." Hailey said, trailing off, knowing how much of a touchy subject it was to even elaborate.

"Yeah, but I'm eighteen! I wanna enjoy my single life, and not be cockblocked by Caleb" I tell Hailey. She looks at me with pursed lips, hesitating whether or not to say whatever it was on her mind. Before she could do so, however, someone knocks on the open door, making me and Hailey turn to see Caleb munching on some pringles as he leaned on the door frame.

"Weirdo, dinner's ready" Caleb said before passing a glance at Hailey. And as soon as he noticed her looking at him as well, his face changes to an annoyed look, but ironically sported a smirk "Like what you see? Take a picture, it'll last longer" He smugly tells her, but Hailey simply rolls her eyes at him.

"You look like shit as per usual. I don't think my phone camera has enough megapixels to make you look better" she answers as she flashes Caleb a sarcastic smile. Before Caleb makes another dig at her, however, I decide to butt in before it escalates any further.

"I'll be down in a bit. Now get out" I tell Caleb. He simply nods and mutters a 'bitch' under his breath, while Hailey mutters 'asshole' under hers.

I, on the other hand, just shake my head because I think they are both ado-fucking-rable. They might think that they're both very aggressive with the whole "we hate each other" thing, but frankly, from the eyes of onlookers, it looks more like a flirty 'I hate youuu'.

And no, I am not being delusional and biased.

"Well. That's my cue to leave, I guess" Hailey says as she gets off my beanbag chair and checks herself out in my mirror. "You're leaving the same time tomorrow as us, right?"

"Yep" I answer.

"Cool" Hailey says before leaving my room while I finish packing, and I hear her say goodbye to my parents before leaving and heading to her house, which was conveniently next door.

Other people wish they could build a tunnel under their houses that would lead directly to their best friend's house, I, on the the hand, just have to cross the street to get to her house.

Funnily enough, even across the state, we were still going to be living in the same building near campus and our apartments were literally next to each other's.

Personally, I would've preferred it if we lived in the same apartment, but since Caleb was also going to be there, I knew better than to press that idea any further.

I mean, I wouldn't want to come home one day to find my apartment wrecked to pieces just because they both couldn't agree on something.

Come the next day.

The drive to university was hella long!

Considering that I was gonna be living with Caleb, and with our stuff combined, dad decided to hire a moving van with us.

"You have the key right?" Caleb asked while he carried one of the boxes.

"You don't?" I asked, making him roll his eyes at me before holding his hand out so I could give him the key. And upon handing it to him, he immediately headed inside the building with mom and dad on his tail while I grabbed one of the boxes inside the van.
