Story

Born in the slum city of Brooklyn, New York, New York Italian born Peter De Luca had a very hard childhood: his mother died when he was two, and his father left him when he was 8, making life very hard, being around the Italian mob and his aunt, who cared for him, being involved with drugs.

Peter vowed to never get involved with drugs nor drank alcohol whenever he was around his neighborhood. Not to mention his aunt abused him for being clean, meaning never getting involved with the hard stuff and/or for no reason.

In a perfect scenario, it's like if Pete's doing a puzzle and when the puzzle is almost complete, his aunt punches a hole through it in the name of unpredictability.

Having enough of the abuse, Pete finally moved out at the age of 18, where he never returned and was able to make a living as a chef for The Tour of Italy on the other side of Brooklyn.

While working, he watches on the screen a commercial for training to be a wrestler. At first, Pete didn't know what wrestling was until he decided to sign up, not knowing what he was getting himself into.

At the site, where the training was taking place, it was out in the middle of nowhere, making De Luca feel ripped off until he was invited to a wrestling tryout by Eric Bischoff, WCW, whom he treated with respect and accepted.

After training for a year, Pete's career started out surprisingly normal, no ripoffs nor anyone turning out to a bit of an asshole. De Luca was grateful for the opportunity to show what he can do not just inside the ring, but outside it as well.

Ultimately, when the year 1992 came around, Peter thought he would be strapped to a rocket and be flown to the moon and maybe past it after a couple years of experience, but after finding out that Bischoff had been keeping him down, Peter had asked for a meeting.

The meeting didn't go down very well as an argument erupted between De Luca and Eric as he was adamant about the pay and guarantees Pete was getting. After the meeting, Eric decided to bury De Luca so humiliatingly that Peter had no-sold the finish, jumped onto his feet, going off on Eric in the back, who completely ignored his rants while laughing.

In that moment, Peter De Luca, a prodigy in professional wrestling, had quit WCW and didn't look back.

One day, while figuring out what to do next, Peter decided to try his luck in BJW or Big Japan Pro Wrestling, the biggest Japanese wrestling company at the time, where he participated in the hardcore world of Deathmatch wrestling, where he found excruciating at first, but he soon grown to love it, doing whatever he could to kill his opponents.

After such a long time, people start to gravitate towards him and start to become fans of his once they saw Peter's right arm getting ripped open and him duct taping it shut until the match was over, proving how tough a New York Italians can be in certain situations.

A year into his tenure with BJW, Peter finally won his first major title, the BJW World Deathmatch Championship.

While making waves in Japan with his new style of wrestling, Peter was given a call from Paul E. Dangerously (Paul Heyman), about possibly working for ECW to showcase his talent for hardcore wrestling.

Dropping the belt to Jun Kasai, Peter flew over to Philadelphia, making an immediate impact by invading the company and cutting a promo on WCW and Eric Bischoff, not holding back while going under the new ring name, Sammy Santoro, the inspiration behind his favorite mob movie, "Casino".

Here's the promo De Luca had cut on Eric and WCW:

"When I first started my career, I was hoping to be treated with respect and shown that the field is fair but Eric Bischoff, I'm not the same fucking guy you worked with a couple years ago! I'm not a literal piece of shit like you! Did you know I suffered cauliflower ear in both my ears? I suffered that so much my earlobes are as hard as a fucking rock, man! I even got a scar on my right arm to prove that I can go the limit! Peter De Luca is dead and Sammy Santoro is born! ECW, give me all the talent you got because we won't be wrestling, we're gonna fucking kill each other!"

Short and straight to the point, just how Peter would roll.

And with that, Peter got what he wanted, showing off what he can do against the likes of New Jack (R.I.P.), Tommy Dreamer, Rhyno, Balls Mahoney (R.I.P.), Mick Foley, and many other hardcore wrestlers, doing whatever he could to appease the fans.

As he's making himself at home, Peter meets Amy Dumas, who starts to take a liking to him as well as his ability to cook AUTHENTIC Italian food when he's not wrestling.

When ECW closed down, Amy and Pete still kept in touch as she went to WWE and De Luca went to Combat Zone Wrestling to keep doing his thing in hardcore wrestling, upping the ante with barbed wire, light tubes, wooden doors, and glass panes.

Showing how far Peter can go in that style of wrestling, it earned him the right to be called a three time CZW World Champion.

After a very successful tenure with the promotion, Pete had decided to try his luck with WWE, showing up on an episode of Raw, surprising his best friend Amy, who broke down in tears at the site of him making a statement inside the ring against a jobber.

Amy and Peter catch up and become friends again, but when he finds out she's in a relationship with Adam "Edge" Copeland, Pete starts to feel lovesick for Amy and feels like he doesn't deserve to be her friend. How does Amy react to this?
