~~~
My name is y/n l/n and I'm a veteran.
Serving in the Mexican Special Armed Forces I met the loves of my life Alejandro Vargas and Valeria Garza. To say I fell in love was an understatement, I was lucky enough to have both of them willing to share my love. Five years later I retired from the service and decided to stay in Las Almas to stay close to them. I'd seen and experienced many things but I wanted a change so I opened a flower shop. The building I purchased had a small apartment behind the storefront. It was something simple and I liked it that way. Here is where I've stayed for about 2 years with regular business and I still had my lovers.
It was a dream until my alarm went off at 7 in the morning. I begrudgingly rolled over to silent the annoying sound before turning over to the woman in my bed.
"Buenos días, mi amor." I whispered in her ear and kissed her temple. Quickly I jumped out of bed before she could trap me in her grasp. She tended to wrap her arms around me, encasing me in her web for a few more hours. I'd been late opening the shop a few times thanks to her games, thankfully I've caught on.
"Come back to bed mi vida" She whined once she realized I got up.
"I can't, I have to open on time today." I said as I began to change into my work clothes. She groaned angrily at my response and slowly sat up on my bed.
"You know, you should just shut the place down. I can provide for you and you wouldn't have to lift a finger." This again, I swear I hear this at least once a day.
"You know I won't do that." Valeria stood up and walked over to me.
"Why not?" She whispered in my ear as she pushed her chest against my back. Her hands slowly snaked around my waist making it harder to get ready.
"Val, do you think Alejandro hasn't offered a similar deal with me too?" She hissed when I mentioned him. They had a past and hated each other's guts. One was the cop, the other was the criminal and then there was me.
"Did you take him up on it? Is that why you're declining me?" She complained.
"Babe. I haven't taken either of your offers for numerous reasons. For one, I love working. It makes me feel like I'm contributing something to the community. Also if I took one of your offers I'd be showing favoritism." I loved Alejandro and Valeria both equally and I didn't want them to think I cared for one over the other.
"I guess you're right. You love me and Alejandro. I can respect that but guess whos' here right now?" She said as she began to kiss my neck slowly. I ignored her as I continued to do my hair then her hands traveled under my shirt and up my chest.
"Val!" I warned and she immediately took her hands off of me.
"You're no fun mi amor." She laughed before her phone rang.
"¿Qué quieres?" She said in an angry tone answering the phone. It was possible someone from the cartel, she always acted scary around her men but she was never like that with me. Guess I'm the lucky one.
"El envío está en camino. No te preocupes. Proceda con precaución, aquí teníamos ojos no deseados." I really try not to eavesdrop on Valeria's conversations but she's loud and it's hard not to. I know there's many drug shipments on the way to clients and the "unwanted eyes" she mentioned were most likely the Mexican Special Forces catching on to the cartel. However she was El Sin Nombre, nothing was going to stop her.
"There's a party at my lieutenant's house if you wish to have some fun." Valeria spoke once she got off the phone. Often the cartel held house parties for the inner circle, they were very fun but there was booze.
"Will you actually be there or will I just be there alone?" I asked while raising an eyebrow. Last party I went to she had urgent business to attend to and left me with a bunch of her men. Of course they know who I am so they wouldn't do anything but it was still terrifying.
"Unfortunately mi amor, I have business but I want you near me."
"When is it?" I asked in defeat. She wasn't going to let this go, whether I was by myself or with Alejandro she wanted my whereabouts. It was sweet but sometimes it was annoying. However, when one of your lovers is the leader of a chartel it is a necessity to her.
"Tonight at 10." Valeria said looking at her phone.
"Why not, I'll go."
"Fantastico mi vida. I'll pick you up tonight but now I have to go. Te amo y/n." She told me and I frowned slightly before she gave me a kiss.
"Yo también te amo." I responded naturally. God, I love her. She really did bring me out of my shell. Even back when we were serving, I was quiet but meeting her changed me.
After she left I quickly cleaned up the shop before opening.
I started on arrangements that were due soon and greeted customers who would come in. Around 9 o'clock the shop was quiet and I hummed a song as I worked. That was until I saw a familiar man walking towards the door.
"Mi corazon, I missed you." He announced his presence when he walked in the shop.
"Ale!" I yelled as I jumped over my counter to embrace him. The last time I heard from him was 2 days ago before he told me he had an important mission at work. Later that night I was called and told him and Rodolfo had been injured at the border. It was minor injuries for Alejandro but I absolutely hated getting calls like that, they kept me up at night. I stayed in his arms for a long moment before putting away and moving my right hand to his cheek. He smiled at me and leaned into my touch before I moved my back about an inch. Then I lightly smacked him in the cheek, he scrunched his face at the sudden contact.
"Sometimes I think you hate me or you're bipolar." He laughed knowing the exact reason I did what I did.
"Are you going to tell me about what happened?" I asked, putting my hand on my hip. If I look angry enough he might explain to me what's going on.
"I suppose I must." Alejandro did explain to mean what happened on the mission. Something about a terrorist crossing the border. I only understood half of it, but it made me feel better that he was still alive and able to talk to me. Anytime I hear about Alejandro's missions it makes me more and more thankful that I retired when I did.
"Will you spend the night soon?" I asked once he was done rambling about work.
"Fortunately I can't. Task Force 141 is arriving today and we have a mission." He explained and I rolled my eyes. Why did I decide to date a military man and cartel leader? I feel like they never stopped working and can never spend real time with me.
"Ugh I don't even want to know about it."
"Are you sure?"
"Yep, the less I know the better." I spoke truthfully. Valeria told me things I didn't need to know, the less information I have the better.
"Mi amor I promise once this is handled I will take leave to spend time with you. I never want you to feel like an afterthought with me." I smiled at the sentiment before he had to take off. I got a sweet kiss from him then he walked out the door. Once outside he glanced at the El Sin Nombre art on the side of the building's wall. He always hated that art, afraid it would give me unwanted attention however it's actually done the opposite. Of course I had Los Vaqueros on my side but having El Sin Nombre as my known ally was more respected in Las Almas.
At the end of the day, staying out of trouble was my job and I wanted to keep it that way.
