Harry wasn't very smart. He shouldn't have lied to Hermione about having a plan, but it was too late now, his pride wouldn't let him take his words back. So, here he was, wandering through the corridors in hopes of finding something to spark a half-way decent plan before tomorrow morning.
It wasn't working, obviously.
After walking past a certain wall a few times, a door suddenly caught his eyes. A door that wasn't there a moment before. Hesitantly, Harry walked up to it. After staring for a minute or two, he opened the door and peeked inside.
The room looked elegant in its Chinese design. In the middle of the room was a white-blonde haired boy with his back towards Harry.
Malfoy.
Without thinking, he walked in. The door slammed shut behind him, making him wince. Malfoy turned sharply to him and narrowed his eyes.
"How did you get in here?" He asked harshly. Harry opened and closed his mouth a few times and Malfoy snapped, "Well?"
"T-The door?" He stammered.
Malfoy raised an eyebrow, "What door?"
"The one-" Harry turned to motion towards the door he walked into, only to stop and stare.
The door was gone.
"...Behind me." Harry finished lamely.
Malfoy sighed harshly, "Great, now I'm stuck in here with you."
"What do you mean stuck?" Harry asked.
"I've been in here for, what, an hour?" He explained in a mocking tone.
Harry stared, "Why haven't you left?"
Malfoy scoffed, "I can't, Potter!" He gestured around the room, "Do you see an exit?"
Before Harry could retort, he noticed a flute on a pedestal next to an instrument he didn't know the name of. He pointed at them, "Why are those there?"
Malfoy scoffed again, looking towards where Harry pointed to before doing a double-take. He was the one who stared this time before he shook his head, "Those weren't there before."
The two gave each other a look and they approached the instruments. Harry was drawn towards the flute and, it seemed, Malfoy was drawn towards the other. Almost at exactly the same time, they reached out to touch them.
As soon as Harry's fingers grazed the wooden flute, it felt like lightning shot through his head. As he doubled over and clutched his head, he could distantly hear Malfoy do the same. Instantly, memories and words flooded his head.
"Wei Wuxian, go to hell!"
"You, A-Cheng and I, we will never be separated."
"I wish that I, Wei Wuxian, can eliminate the wicked and aid the weak for my entire life, holding no regrets in my heart,"
"I used to think of you as my soulmate..." "I still am."
"I'm sorry. And, thank you."
"Wei Ying."
"Lan Zhan."
Harry opened his eyes with a gasp. Looking towards Malfoy, whose eyes were locked on his. He looked different, to him at least. It was if his soul had finally recognized him after all these years. With his newfound memories, all he could do was whisper two little, but powerful words.
"Lan Zhan..." Harry trailed off. Malfoy's lips twitched slightly, his face and eyes softening as he replied.
"Wei Ying."
