"Just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof of a building"

They always said it only took a little push to get to someone's breaking point. Katsuki knew this, but he never actually saw it. No, he never expected to see it. But the moment he said those words, he wished he could take it all back.
Katsuki heard his "friends" laughing, someone in the back had the balls to ask if he went to far for saying that. From anyone's point of view, it looked like katsuki was staring straight into Izukus soul as he said it. But that wasn't true, no.
He couldnt bring himself to look at Izukus face, at the hurt he had just caused from telling someone that was once his best friend to kill himself.
He didn't mean it, he could never mean something like that. But it came out without warning. And now, katsuki didn't even have the strength to look at what he caused.

He turned his heel, his lackeys following behind him like he was some king. But to them he was. He was the best, he was Bakugou Katsuki, the strongest, the one with the best quirk and the brightest future.
He couldn't be seen with a quirkless freak. He realized a long time ago that he felt things for the little green haired boy that someone like him didn't deserve. Deku didn't deserve to be katsuki's friend. Right?
It wasn't hard to turn his back on his former friend. It was almost scary how easy he did it. They went from playing ball in each others back yard and trading All Might cards to katsuki kicking izuku down and throwing insults any chance he got.

At first it was the cold shoulder, then words, then it slowly escalated physically. It wasn't rare that he'd find himself shoving izuku a little to hard into the locker, or making his quirk heat up to much while grabbing his shoulder. But he had to make it clear didn't he? He had to make it clear that he was the best. It's what everyone expected, his teachers, his classmates, his parents. And how could he be the best if he was associated with the weakest person in society?

He thought it got easier to ignore his feelings for the boy, he really did. But as he turned around, he could hear silent sniffles. He couldn't help glancing over.
The sight of little izuku, shoved to the floor with his papers scattered everywhere, and tears rolling down his cheeks hurt more then it should have. His eyes shone more with his tears he thought. Deku never really changed from childhood. While most people grew into themselves, deku stayed small, same features, same personality. He was still deku, he will always be deku.

Katsuki remembered when they were younger, promising to be hero's together, to be a team, an unstoppable duo. He remembers how fun it was to imagine. The only thing was what was once a dream is gonna become reality for katsuki. And for deku, it will ways be what it started out as. A dream.

Emareld green color, and star like freckles stuck in the back of katsuki's mind all the way home.
Or what he thought was home.

The walk seemed forever, he was so deep in though about izuku that he didn't notice his friends screaming and running, or the green sludge oozing towards him. It gripped onto him violently, ingulfing him in disgusting slime. It was cold and wet, foreign and revolting. The slime made way into katsukis mouth, silencing any noise that dare come out. It was being shoved down his throat while his limbs melted into the goo, he couldn't move. He couldnt breath. Tears threatened to form, when he realized this made him feel something he was never supposed to.
Fear
He was scared.
He didn't know what to do.

All he could see were people gathering around him like some horrific new attraction. The hero's that were supposed to be saving him just stood on the side, watching with gaping mouths. He could see it in their eyes, they didn't know what to do either. Whether they couldn't do anything or they didn't want to, it didn't matter. Katsuki realized quickly he was on his own. And that terrified him even more.
He couldn't breath, he couldn't think. He was scared, cornered, he was going to die.

So imagine his surprise when he saw a fuzzed image of dark green hurling a yellow backpack towards him. It took him a minute to calm down enough to realize what was happening.
He felt the sludge jerk and move, heard desperate pleas from below.
It was izuku, izuku the little quirkless loser, the one that would never amount to anything.
He was trying to save him.
Katsuki was furious. No, he could help himself. He didn't need some deku to come crying after him. He was strong, he could handle this. So why was deku worrying over him like some helpless citizen?!
Katsuki seethed, thrashing inside the villains hold while izuku clawed at the sludge. The monsters eye was hurt, loosening his grip around katsuki enough for him to get free.
The rest happened since fast, katsuki didn't know how to handle it.

After AllMight saved them Deku was getting scolded, while he was getting praised. Hero's rushed in, the villain contained. But katsuki didn't feel anything expect for anger. He was supposed to get himself out. Deku could have gotten himself killed.

Because why, he wanted to play hero? Katsuki couldnt even imagen deku dying at the hands if she villain because his stupid dreams got the best if him.

The rest happened in a blur, and before he knew it, he found deku in an alley. He yelled something at him, and honestly he doesn't even remember what he yelled. Some bullshit that came out.

Scrawny little deku tried to help him.

Pathetic

He got home shortly after that. The old hag and old man, had their own ways of showimg how worried they were. His dad seemed frantic, asking millions if questions without really asking them while his mom screamed. Not necessarily at him, mostly at the villian that dare took hold of her son. Seeing her scream at the tv with a picture of the the sludge monster was almost amusing.

Katsuki was in the shower when he finally allowed himself to fall. Here, he could excuse his tears as the water. The image of Izukus broken face when he told him to jump. His hair in his face, the notebook that was thrown in the koi pond forgotten with the words he had just heard.
Katsuki thought about how that quick glance allowed him to capture it all. He looked so broken, so sad. And he made him feel like that.

And then then the face he made when he ran after him, he looked so worried, so fearful and desperate. Why. Why would he make that expression? Who would fear for the life of someone who made your own life hell for years?

It didn't make sense to him. Izuku could if died. He could have died. Fuck. He slapped his hand over his mouth.

I almost died..... I almost died...

He couldn't stop the tear flow now, realization washing over him like a title wave. He was just suffocated, used for his quirk by a villian. He couldn't escape it. What kind of future hero was he? Deku wouldn't have to even have the thought of trying to help if he was just strong enough to get through it himself.

That's why Deku helped him... He didn't think he'd get out. He thought he was too weak, that he'd die.

Shame and anger took over.

He'll show him, he'll that fucking deku that he never needed his pathetic excuse of help. That someone like him couldn't even compare to katsukis level.

He has 10 months till the UA exams. And he'll be ready for it. He'll be the best UA has ever seen.
