Chapter 4

I went into a slightly hesitant battle stance as Espresso landed (btw the balcony is pretty big. theres enough room for madeleine and espresso's dragon form to be kinda far from each other 

'I've never fought a dragon before.. This may be hard considering how Espresso seems pissed'

"Listen.. We can talk about this.." I said hesitantly 

"SILENCE." Espresso boomed

Next thing I knew, I got hit by a pretty big fireball

I fell due to the impact, but I quickly got back up

"Fine then! Be like that!" I said angrily

I started attacking Espresso

They summoned two large coffee mugs with magic

I barely dodged them when they flew at me

Espresso summoned two fireballs, flapped their wings, and made a fire tornado

'Holy fucking shit.. What have I gotten myself into'

I tried dodging, but I still got caught in it

When I got to the top of the tornado, it disappeared, so I started falling

I somehow managed to land on my feet

'This is all for Cursed Crystal, Madeleine Cookie. Don't forget that'

I took a deep breath, then let it out

When I noticed that Madeleine couldn't fight anymore, I glared at him

'Tsk. Dumb cookie.'

I turned back into a cookie 

Then I noticed that Roguefort and String Gummy were watching everything while eating popcorn

"Really?" I asked

They both giggled

I looked down on Madeleine

He was struggling to get up

"I will not.. Fail my master.. What are your motives" He said while huffing and puffing

I scoffed

"Get the fuck out of here before I turn you into mere crumbs" I said sharply

Then I stepped over him and walked to my partners (i fuckin love espresso in this au. i made them such a badass)

"YEAH TELL HIM BABE" Roguefort exclaimed

"GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS KNIGHT COMMANDER" String Gummy exclaimed

"He can't do that. His ego made it so his head is stuck in his damn ass" I said

"I can tell"

"Forget him. Let's go. We're better than his annoying ass" Roguefort said while dragging me and String Gummy

"Finee, but I need coffee. I used a lot of energy" I said

By the time I got back on my feet, they were gone

I sighed and picked up my sword

When I got back to the throne room, I took a deep breath

"I never got to know what the leader's intentions are, but I do know who it is" I said

"Why do you look so beat up though?" Cursed Crystal asked

"Well, apparently the leader is a dragon. And they were pretty pissed that I was there. The leader is Espresso"

"That mage has followers???"

"Yeah"

"So that's what they were doing when they disappeared.."

"..Yeahhh.."

"Interesting.. Well, that amount of information is perfectly fine. You're dismissed"

"Alright"

I bowed, then I left

"Are you alright now?" I asked Espresso 

"Yeah of course. Why?" They asked

"Well, you seemed pretty.. Pissed" String Gummy commented

"I just.. Hate that fucking cookie so much"

"Yeah, I get it. He betrayed your trust"

"He also almost got Espresso killed" I added

Espresso sighed

"It did feel good to beat the shit out of him in my dragon form" Espresso said

"But, it just feels like that wasn't enough for some reason" They continued 

"Well yeah, Madeleine made you feel like shit" String Gummy said

"Now, how about we keep our minds off him? He sucks" I said

"Happily" Espresso and String Gummy said
