Phil stared at the man.

His son.

"Wil, step away from the button."

Silence.

"This nation is no longer mine, I didn't get my presidency back."

"Does it matter? You made this nation for others to be free-"

"THAT'S NOT THE POINT, PHIL!" Wilbur shouted, clearly lost in his own insanity.

Phil put up a calm front. He watched his son analyse him.

"If I can't have Manburg" Wilbur said, spitting the name Manburg with disgust.

"Then no one can have Manburg."

Phil stilled.

"Wilbur. What does that button do?"

Wilbur smiled softly.

"There was a saying Phil, by a traitor."

Phil stepped towards his son.

"It was never meant to be."

Click.

It was silent for a few seconds. Those few seconds were filled with suspense and anxiety.

Philza would never forget those few seconds.

In those few seconds, Philza lunged forward, grabbing his son by the arm as he pulled him away from the button.

Then, the noise came back.

Screams and shouts filled the air, along with explosions.

Wilbur was tucked behind Philza's wing.

Philza held his son with shaking hands, gripping onto him as if Wilbur was his lifeline.

Wilbur, throughout all of this, was smiling widely.

The father and son stood there for a few minutes, taking in what just happened.

"Phil."

Silence.

"Yes?" Philza responded, his voice wavering.

"Kill me."

At this point, Philza was looking at Wilbur straight in the eyes, holding his son's shoulders firmly with both of his hands.

"Wilbur, I don't know what the **** is wrong with you but I will not kill my son."

"Please Phil."

"No."

"Please Phil, I have nothing left."

"Wilbur, you have me, you have Tommy, you have Technoblade. You sure as hell have many things left."

Wilbur took out a diamond sword from his inventory and handed it to Philza.

"Do it Phil, kill me."

Philza looked down.

"Phil, kill me."

"YOU'RE MY SON!"

Philza looked at his son in the eyes. His son's once bright, sparkling eyes were now filled with darkness and looked dead.

Wilbur walked towards his father.

Wilbur hugged Philza.

Philza stood there, shocked. He hugged Wilbur back with one arm as his other hand had the sword in it.

Philza opened his eyes slightly. A few tears fell and soaked into Wilbur's trench coat.

Philza looked up without lifting his head.

He saw his wife.

Lady Death.

Death appeared to take their son to the afterlife.

Her face was a black void, covered by her veil.

Philza looked at his wife with tear-filled eyes. A desperate plea to give their son longer to live, to not take him away from Philza.

Lady Death looked at her husband. She shook her head.

She gestured to the sword, then to her son.

Philza barely managed to choke on a sob.

"I love you son."

Silence.

"I love you too, dad."

As the words left Wilbur's mouth, a sword was stabbed through him.

Wilbur smiled as his body went limp.

Philza fell to the ground, holding his limp son in his shaking arms.

Wilbur's head was on his father's shoulder, eyes half-lidded, with a soft, small smile on his face.

Philza cried silently.

Lady Death walked foward.

"Hi mum."

"H-hello dear."

Wilbur turned towards his father.

"I guess you could say that L'manburg went out with a bang."
