Karsyn grunted while she released the weights from her hands as sweat trickled down her caramel skin. She immediately reached for her half empty water jug. Karsyn looked at the marked lines and noticed she'd drank enough water until 3 pm—it was only 9am.
She chuckled to herself as her AirPods Pros read her text aloud from her best friend—Kairo. "Bitch I know you better be here after you finish acting like the damn hulk!" siri relayed. Karsyn decided to respond later on as she had somewhere to be in the next hour. She hurriedly wiped down and grabbed her belongings from her area before heading out to her metallic purple 2023 Dodge Charger.
One thing about Karsyn— she was definitely going to find a sports car no matter where she went. Since her father was a mechanic who specialized in sports cars, she naturally grew to love them. This was only her second year in Georgia, considering she's an Arkansas native, and she's already been through four cars. Intentionally changing them out every six months.
Her doing so had created a very small dent in her pocket but she didn't mind since she makes a good sum of money from her hair business and being a travel nurse.
Karsyn was busy responding to her best friends message to realize she'd been walking in front of a car. The cars breaks screeched as the car jerked forward just barely kissing Karsyn.
"Watch whea' the fuck you goin'!" a deep voice yelled while throwing their hands up from inside the car. To which Karsyn quickly responded "I had the right of way dipshit! Fuck wrong wit' yo' stupid ass?" She rolled her eyes as she got a glimpse of the car and it's driver. She absentmindedly admired the car, it was a blacked out Audi. Cute, she thought.
"Damn is you gon' move or I gotta run yo' ass over forreal this time?" the voice called out again. She then flipped them off and continued her walk to the car.

Karsyn finished unrolling the last flexirod from her tape-in install before combing it out with a wide tooth comb. She posed for mirror pictures until she'd received a text from Kairo stating she was outside. Karsyn decided against responding since she was finishing her final touches on her look. She turned off the lights in her apartment and headed out to Kairo's Mercedes truck.
"You look cute!" Kairo exclaimed when she saw Karsyn open the door to the vehicle. Karsyn's smile spread big as she loved compliments from friends and family specifically. She wasn't fond of people complimenting her outside of those two groups since afterwards they thought they deserved her number or social media after doing the bare minimum. Karsyn didn't give out anything related to her unless she got the vibes she was looking for. And considering that no one gave those vibes, she turned them down. Nevertheless Karter returned the compliment and buckled herself into the car.
"So whea' we goin'?" Karsyn's southern accent boomed. "Out," Kairo responded. Karsyn eyed her with a mug plastered on her face. She now knew for a fact her best friend was up to something. She was given strict orders of what to wear and the type of place they were attending. Outside of the very little information she was given, she knew nothing. "Girl-" She was cut off by the ringing of a phone. She looked on her lap but quickly realized it wasn't hers.
"Hello? Yea we around the corner. Nigga don't rush me, it's not my fault we late." Kairo stated while she slightly nudged Karsyn causing her to let out a small laugh. Kairo wrapped up her conversation before hanging up and parking in front of Ruth's Chris Steak House. Karsyn kissed her teeth. She ate a lot and the small portions the restaurants served weren't filling for her and only lasted an hour after eating.
"Kairo. Why did you bring me here." Karsyn frowned. Kairo laughed and killing the engine, "Girl come on. There's people waiting on us." She pouted a little and began her walk into the restaurant.
Kairo led her into the establishment. "Reservation for Rivers," Kairo said which caused the hostess to nod and lead us to the booth. As we turned the corner I saw two men waiting on the same side of the booth laughing. Karsyn mugged for the hundredth time as she'd realized Kairo had planned yet another two man. Karsyn was over this, Kairo has been doing this since they lived in Arkansas together. "Wassup Kai, who dis?" A light skinned man asked. "Hey Eli, this my best friend Karsyn. Karsyn this is Eli and Siah."
The boy who Karsyn assumed was Siah looked up and a smirk instantly plastered his face. She sighed and sat down across from him. "You look familiar." Eli trailed. He stroked his beard as he began to think of where he'd see her from. "Yo! You the girl from the gym! I almost nailed yo' ass to da damn road." He laughed and Karsyn chuckled lightly. "Oh so you the one who tried to kill me? Nice ta' meet you I guess." She shrugged.
"Whea' you from?" Siah asked. Karsyn looked him over. She couldn't see his face very well but noticed he favored Polo G. She admired him a little more before simply saying Arkansas.
"Knew you wasn't from hea' you too country." Karsyns face bunched up. "Ian country boy, you didn't hear how you just sounded?" she asked. He shook his head and laughed at her accent. Karsyn shook her head too and looked over the menu. "I don't want none of this lil ass food." she mumbled, she hated this restaurant with a passion. Overall they had good food but she was never fully satisfied with the portions and overall service.
Shortly after, the groups waiter came to take their order and they four broke off into their own separate conversations with their date.
