The most famous citizen of Philadelphia is William Penn. He was the proprietor of Pennsylvania. In 1623 New Netherlands became New York. in 1630 the Great Migration happened. In 1638 Delaware became a colony. In 1664 New Jersey Was Settled. In 1673 the Plantation Duty act happened. The Middle Colonies were The Gentry and they are knights, squires, gentlemen, and gentlewomen. Lots of local religious groups ran most schools and stressed the practical aspects of education. Their family life was complicated they had way too many children. They also had their aunts, uncles, and grandparents living with them. They have religion, many like Quakers (who founded Pennsylvania), Catholics, Lutherans, and a few Jews.
