Chapter 50 - "Where Am I?" (Edited)

Start from the beginning

"Please let us know if anything comes up, and tell him I said, he doesn't have to worry, he'll definitely figure it out. If you'll excuse us... we need to go review our parenting..." Mr. Williams says and guides his wife out.

"Ok. Addison, Firstly, I had no idea how that worked... but it did... but it also got us into more trouble... we don't even know where Marc is" Jake says as he looks at me for support.

"Actually It didn't" Sophie says.

"What?" Jake and I asked in unison.

"It gives us more time to look for him" Sophie says standing up.

"Where are you going?" I asked standing up also"

Her response to me was the you have  to be kidding me look and then it hit me.

We immediately finished the rest of our food and Addison offered to do the dishes and then we flocked out to the living room.

"We will be going out to take a walk Mrs. Williams..." Addison began.

"We are?" I asked to which in return I received an elbow to the side.

"Oh... All of you?" She asked tilting her head a bit as if trying to wrap her head around the fact that teenagers in this day and age can actually go outside.

"We actually want to show Daniel here a few sights" Jake said with a smirk.

"Y'know he doesn't see much of the city always with him being popular and all" Jake said rolling his eyes.

I felt like punching him right now.

She seemed to understand as she ushered us outside and told us not to get in trouble to which we knew we already kinda are.

"He went on a walk yesterday, and... if I'm correct he probably took the path which led to his thinking spot" Jake said looking at Addison for confirmation once we were outside.

"Definitely. It's not really his because most people go there to chill whenever it's hot" Addison added causing me to chuckle a bit as the image of Marc arguing that he discovered that place played in my head.

"So how do we get there?" I asked.

"It's a walkable distance, you might want to leave your car out here and also... you might get recognized out there" Addison said.

"Hold on" Addison says and runs back inside.

I looked at Jake and Sophie who only shrugged.

Addison returns with a pair of sunglasses, a black Nike cap and a black face mask.

"There's no way I am wearing that"

Fast forward.

We are now walking on the street with me wearing what Addison had brought out earlier.

"See... it's not that bad" Sophie said patting me on the shoulder to which I rolled my eyes in return which I knew she could not see.

"What exactly should we be looking for?" Jake asked.

"Clues... anything at all" Addison said looking around.

We walked for another 2 minutes or so before Sophie pointed out something,

"Guys..." Sophie spoke a bit shaken which caused us to stop and look at her but she was looking at something else by the side which was quite easy to miss unless you looked hard enough.

She quickly ran to it and picked it up and held it up with shaky hands for us to see

"I know this badge... It's in one of Marc's jacket... he wears it most of the time to work... Guys... I don't think Marc is safe..." She said in a way that was evident she was almost getting a panic attack.

Jake hugged her immediately rubbing circles on her back while telling her soothing words.

I took the badge and examined it and it sure does look familiar but I couldn't say for sure and I gave it to Addison who agreed it looks familiar.

"Let's go back and ask Melissa if Marc wore a jacket last night before we come to conclusion" I said and they agreed.

Before we left my eyes caught something in the corner and I had a flashback immediately.

"Did you see any other thing?" I asked Nathalie.

She was in thought for a while before speaking.

"One of them was holding a black card... I'm not sure but it looked like a business card"

A black business card laid a few feet away from some stone and as I picked it up a shiver ran through my spine.

Marc

I don't know what's going on and I couldn't even understand what's happening as my eyes were shut and were too tired to open.

It's like my whole memory has been wiped because my mind was blank and I couldn't think of anything. I just laid there motionless and weak at the same time.

I wanted to open my eyes but they felt like the heaviest things in the world. Even my hands seem to be useless and so were my legs.

After what felt like hours I managed to open my eyes slowly and I was surprised with where I found myself.

I was in a dimly lit room thanks to the lights out curtains I couldn't tell if it was day or night. which the only light source was a bedside lamp. I tried to look around but I couldn't see much but from the little that got illuminated I could tell the room was big.

Wait... what am I doing in a room? Who's room is this? More importantly... How did I get here?

Where am I?

Oh well that's a story for another time... but if you'd like to know what happened while I was...  busy... let me know in the comments or on my profile conversations board or DMs... 🤷‍♂️
