Dhanam watched this shocked..she couldn't hear what was spoken..but she could guess that not all was hunky dory..she had suspected this

The one week leading up to the Thaali Perukku function she had many times caught Jeeva and Meena stealing little moments..

Dhanam didn't bother too much about customs..they were a couple in love and that's all that mattered..but Kathir and Mullai kept out of each other's way..

She had guessed that Mullai was the girl Kathir was in love with..she also guessed that something that Mullai did had hurt Kathir deeply..she expected some fireworks in their marriage..unfortunately not the good kind

She went back the same way she came deciding to give them some space to sort it out on their own

Even at meal times Kathir was clear that she serve nothing on his plate

Everytime Dhanam asked Mullai to serve something for Kathir he put his hand out indicating a no

But she also noticed him serving himself the same dish a few minutes later

She decided to not say anything and give them time

A few days passed

Mullai had gotten into the habit of getting up early

She tried offering him tea

But he made it clear that he did not want  her doing anything for him

But she still got up early

The New year rolled in

A couple days after the New year one morning the family sat chatting before the men left to the shop

Dhanam offered to make a fresh round of tea..

Mullai refused and walked in under the pretext of having some work
