Life can be quite strange, can't it?  At first, you're just hanging out with your friends, getting excited over some sort of odd package your friend received and the next, you find out that you apparently have an uncle that somehow can see the same spirits that you and your friends can.  Guess it's just a small world, eh?

Even though Nate and his friends had been through stranger things, this was probably the most surreal thing that has happened.  Well, to Nate at least.  He couldn't help but have multiple strings of thoughts run through his head on repeat, reverberating around his skull like an echo in a cave.  As his thoughts rattled around in his confused mind, he examined the path that he and his friends were walking on and the well kept shrubbery that decorated the area.  The entire outside was beautiful.  But when they got into the mansion...oh boy.  Were the gang in for a shock.

The interior of the mansion had colors of white and gold, with intricate patterns, that were similar to the ones on the box that Montgomery had sent to them, that decorated the floor and a beautiful chandelier that was decorated with varying jewels hung above them all. Everyone else couldn't help but let out noises of awe, but Nate was too focused on his thoughts to awe at anything.  Montgomery, however, seemed to notice this.  So, he walked over to him, knelt down and put his left hand on Nate's right shoulder.

Montgomery: Hey, my boy, are you alright?

Nate nearly jumped out of his skin when Montgomery spoke to him.

Nate: U-um, y-yeah, I'm fine!  Just thinking was all!

Montgomery: Nate.  What were you thinking about exactly?

Nate: U-um, well that's something I-

Montgomery: My boy, if you want some advice; don't bottle up your emotions.  It'll only make you feel worse later on down the line.  If you need to vent your thoughts, just go and do it, okay?

Nate: W-well, it's just t-that...I-I was never told about any of this.  Not my Mom, not my Dad...no-nobody.  A-and I-I d-don't know w-why h-h-he didn't...

Nate began to visibly shake, as did his voice and he looked down at the ground, trying to avoid eye contact.  Montgomery lowered himself to look at Nate's face and saw that his eyes were watering, almost as if Nate was holding back his tears.  Without hesitation, Montgomery embraced Nate into a hug, which seemed to shock him.  Ring, his newfound companion, also began to snuggle into Nate's cheek.

Montgomery: Nate, my boy, it's okay to cry.

Immediately, Nate returned the hug and began to sob into his Uncle's chest.  Montgomery let Nate cry for a few moments, patting his back as he did so.  Once Nate finally stopped sobbing, Montgomery loosened his hug on Nate.

Montgomery: There.  Feel better now?

Nate: Y-yeah, I-I do.  Sorry about your shirt, though.

Montgomery: It's just a shirt, my boy, I can always change into a new one.  And besides, you look like you've had a ton of weight lifted off from your shoulders.

Whisper: I say, this Montgomery fellow is quite the father figure!  Nate's dad could learn a thing or two from him.

Montgomery: Thanks for the compliment, my blue lipped compatriot.

Whisper: Oh, of course-

The ghostly Yo-kai Butler had to do a double take after he heard Montgomery respond to what he had said, even more so when he described a key feature of his body.

Whisper: I'm sorry, you can see me?  How is that possible?!

Montgomery: Kinda hard not to, my wispy fellow.  After all, you aren't the only kindred spirits I've tangoed with.
