On a Saturday afternoon, June 13th year 2032, the acceptance letter of a highly ranked college was given to a young African American male. Coming back home after a hangout with a few friends, he would soon open to gain news he would be excited to see.

Dear Kowa Canda,

We are here at P.K. College would love to say that you have been enlisted within our domain! Congratulations on being that of the 2% of applications that have truly been worthy of our time! Beyond this letter will be the handbook full of our rules, rights, and responsibilities. We cannot wait to see you here once the summer time has rested!

-P.K. Parish

The news greatly excited Kowa, he'd drop the items in his hands being his skateboard, helmet, and padding. He would take the letter upstairs to his Mother and Father. His mother was a 34 year old female with a full head of black smooth hair that flowed down to her lower back area. Kowa's father would be a 38 year old male who recently shaved his head down to grow a fade. Muscular in the arms and had giant hands that swell from the constant days working.

Both of them seemed to be doing their own thing, the mother ironing a newly fresh pair of clothes and the father in the bathroom area brushing his teeth for what could've been the fifth time already. However when brought to the attention of their son waving a letter in the air signed with fine print they already knew the meaning of his excitement. Soon, they as well jumped in with the joy of Kowa because he was accepted into a fine arts college.

Jasmine:OH MY GOD! YOU DID IT BABY YOU ACTUALLY DID IT!

Her name was Jasmine, his father's name being Dymon but he would never call them that. The family wasted no time however, as quick as they could they went out shopping for everything Kowa might need, going out to eat, even posting this news on socal media or at least his mother did with the face of a mother who secretly felt better than all her comrades she called "friends''.

Everything was good and jolly until the acknowledgment of Kowa and dealing with his past. This came to Dymon before anyone else, he turns to the two of them in question to this problem.

Dymon:I know we are celebrating a good time and all, but what about the history they got on Kowa? He had to be accepted for something other than raw smarts, did we...you know...remove it?

Jasmine:Positive, nothing about his past life is exposed besides good bits that could've gotten him into something like this in the first place! You're worrying too much, just relax and feel proud!

She said this while taking down a shot, she was only a small bit off the hook, but she kept a stable ground as long as she was held in her seat when Kowa sat besides her blocking the walkway. Dymon tried to follow her advice though, he would enjoy the rest of the time the family had left and not too soon after the fun they arrived back home. Jasmine danced her way into the house which was a bad sign as it was, but there was something more important on Dymon's mind. He would stand in front of the car door Kowa sat at, and look his son in the eyes before either one of them could enter the house to rest.

Dymon:Kowa...

Kowa:Yes dad?

Dymon:I'm proud that you're going to the big leagues soon, but you need to listen to me. You know as well as I do, you have to stay low with the power you were gifted. We don't want another mistake, not like last time.

Kowa:...Yeah...I know.

Dymon:I just want you to promise me, promise us, that you WILL be tamed no matter what happens at that school. Got it?

Kowa:Yeah dad, I got it. No more of those bad times, I promise.

Dymon:Heh, good. Now get your ass in there, we got a lot of planning to do tomorrow and I'll be damn you walking around like a zombie!

The two would laugh at one another. Ending the night off with a hug, a pat on the back, and the distanced walk into the house after one entered, the next one could go in. The night was settled, and days after that happened to be full of work or planning. The summer rolls to the end of its time, and the time of a new school starts oh but soon. It was that last day of summer Kowa would stare out the window placed above his bed and place his fingers on the glass.

Kowa:It's about time.

He'd drift to sleep, waking up hours later to see the time would be 3 AM. Seeing how all his stuff was packed into his own personal car, only thing behind was his bed and a few items that wouldn't be necessary for packing, he would already be within the car starting up. Looking back at the house, he saw his parents standing outside the door hugging one another waving goodbye to their child before he left. But a wave goodbye wouldn't cut it. Kowa would run out the car and hug his parents one last time, a tear could be seen flying down the eye of his mother and a sniff from his father and himself.

Then backed away, going back into the car and now waving back at their goodbyes before taking off to the location given to him. He'd put it in his GPS, driving miles just to get halfway to where he needed to be but got there soon. What he stood upon was a towering school that was only seen from a distance but he could tell already what he was in for. Kowa continued his drive, making it 30 minutes before it officially opened as he would take a quick rest in the car before starting a new hell.

Though his resting time was short, he would get out of the car with all his belongings and look upwards at the school in awe. But everyone around him seemed like this wasn't a big deal. The more he looked around the more people he saw around. Some on their phones waiting for the doors to open, others meeting up with separated groups as they attended this school already. Here goes Kowa though, he seemed to be basic when it compared to everyone else because the deeper he looked the better he could see that everyone at this school happens to be expert magic user's.

Kowa:Well shit, how the hell am I supposed to interact with these guys...

Then from behind him people stopped talking so loud, almost as if they were whispering. It wasn't just the back of Kowa either, from the middle ground he was and above had groups almost so quiet Kowa could drop his bags and it would be the loudest thing around. But he was so confused, why did everything get quiet, more importantly why was everyone looking his way. It was then he heard someone behind him stop moving easily because the click of a shoe was sounded behind him.

???:And who the hell do you think you are standing in my path to the front of the school doors?
